"Went in here randomly after finding out we had to wait for some friends. At first we were apprehensive but I don't regret this visit. The chicken and waffles is absolutely amazing and will make a point to return specifically to enjoy again. Service was quite good as well."

"We headed out to Nelson again for our yearly Kootenay road trip and once again, Louie's did not disappoint. Although we do have many amazing restaurants here in Calgary, it's very rare to find the combination of quality service and superior food at the price point we find at Louie's. Rob and his team always make us feel special every time we visit and it's always a treat to spend a little time in beautiful Nelson. Thanks again guys, keep up the good work and we'll see you next year!"

"I didn’t go here (there is a reason for that). Looking at the menu online, it appears that they read don’t have ANYTHING vegan on the menu (without significant modifications). If the online menu as of Feb 2023 reflects the actual offerings, this place should not be listed on HappyCow. Pretty unfortunate."

"Me and my 4 friends wanted a celebratory dinner in what was supposed to be one of the best restaurants in town. We ended up walking out after the owner/bar tender refused to give us ice for our water. We asked for water (WATER!) and we received glasses of tepid water from a moody waitress. When we asked for ice, she disappeared without taking the time to give so much as a nod then the owner/bar tender came out and told us "Ice is a commodity so we'll just give you ice cold water and keep your glasses filled." One of us stated the the water we'd been given was far from ice cold so he picked up the glass and threw the water over the fence! I kid you not! This was patio seating, obviously. Then he checked another glass and when he found that water also was not cold he threw that one over the fence as well! We decided shortly thereafter not to dine there and asked for our check (since only one of us had actually drank one of the 3 gawdawful drinks served to us we felt it only right that that one drink be paid for). He brought us a bill for $34 (all three drinks). I then told him in no uncertain terms that we would not pay for all three because he was rude. He told us it was "100 degrees out" (as if that's any kind of excuse for treating your customers like crap) and then said we should not to pay for any of them. I told him that if he's going to run a restaurant and charge premium prices then he should try to greet his customers with some sort of a positive attitude. He said "he's trying." I really think he should sell and get out of the food service industry. Best of luck to him."

"Had to wait 20 minutes for service. Coffee bad Luke warm, white sugar, had to ask twice for cream, Dirty tables all around Us. Food came it was mediocre , hash browns frozen from a bag!! Really not that hard to make home made hash browns!! Cold in The restaurant. Second time We have tried breakfast there. Need some pointers from The Full Circle!!"

"To celebrate the family day today, we have chosen la cantina. we arrived at the middle of the day and we were sitting immediately, ordered, arrived immediately. the server was friendly and efficient. we chose tacos, suppe, burritos and virgen margaritas- large aromen and very filling. I guess the music wasn't too loud so we could talk comfortably. I recommend this restaurant and we will return before the summer slam of the tourist. lmuchísimas gracias!"

"Tucked away this really is a gem to discover! I can honestly say this was the best meal we've had in the last 4 weeks.The Berkshire porkchop with crispy panisse, fennel and olive stew, grilled aspargus was 'heavenly'!The girl in the long grey coat (owner, maître,waitress?) was a delight: extremely friendly, welcoming, informative, suggested the perfect pinot noir to go with the pork: TOP!Being restaurateurs ourselves for over 20 years we only have 1 advise for the guy (owner, maître, waiter?): you are right that regular customers must be pampered BUT one must breed regulars out of firstcomers. Hearing you say: " when i came in they had already set those ladies at your table" gives a very uncomfortable feeling, chatting with your back to the entrance, not noticing people coming in: not done.Never let appearances lead your judgement: one can look simple but hide a world of experience!This said, the chef did a great job and the establishment itself is very inviting so we definitely will recommend this!"
