"We pushed on through the misty rain after a night near Woywoy, relieved to be off the freeway and read reviews for two lunch spots in Stroud. Ma Bakers sounded good for a coeliac but husband had his mouth watering for the Hamburger. As the businesses were next door to each other I contemplated trying the gluten free wrap at one table and the burger next door. However it was a bit miserable outside so in we went. So many signs it was a bit mind boggling so I ordered the plain burger and then asked about gluten free. "Yes"said Barry. "You could have the burger. Not sure about the soup." With that Linda was out of the kitchen for a long chat, thinking about all the ingredients.. .no artificial stocks, no thickeners....eventually deciding I had a choice of three out of four. With two slices of gf toast on the side I was a happy woman. While we waited a young couple and baby sat down and the elegantly dressed and bejeweled lady in the window armchair chatted and entertained them for the next twenty minutes! Another small boy came in for a cuddle with her. Linda's mother I think and wonderful country friendliness. And the food? Fish chowder was great and the burger ticked all the boxes. Well priced."

"Beautiful new look to the cafe. It offers a wonderful menu and delicious food. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was very chilled. Highly recommend their mega milkshakes you need a few people to share it ???? it is soo BIG. All in all had a wonderful experience at this awesome cafe !!!"

"Had dinner at this Restaurant on Sunday evening. Ordered lasagne, potato wedges, kids ham and cheese sandwich and steak meal. All ordered foods were of poor quality. The potato wedges had black skin on each of them, it's like they used rotten potatoes. The kids sandwich, I.e the bread was stale and no butter on bread, very badly done. The lasagne was presented in plate very badly, they heated it up in a oven proof bowl and served it in same dish with unfresh salad. Steak was not done properly as well. Besides all that the toilets were disgusting and filthy. Had to take my year old to Randwick Ritz Cinema to use toilets. Also flys were flying inside. Worst of all at the back of...read more"

"Great coffee, fantastic food, friendly service. like most foodies, these are a few of my favourite things, all of which I am fortunate to have found here at Nooks Place. This is my local and I love their coffee. Stay for breakfast and try the big breakfast, their BLAT (add an egg for extra deliciousness!), or possibly Sydney's best bacon and egg sandwich? For me, its the big breakfast - home made beans, stunning mushrooms, chorizo, bacon, two eggs your way and turkish toast. Did i mention the wilted spinach and tomato? Big By name, big by nature. This is a great local cafe with sun drenched morning tables (if you are quick) and a cosy inside feel. It has bike parking too if you are looking for a ride friendly stop. I really enjoy my local, perhaps you will too!"

"Bat Country is normally a bar at night with a wide range of drinks and cocktails and also serve tapas. It always packed on the weekends and hard to get a table. Very cool atmosphere with vintage decor and hipster music playing. I went for breakfast as it was one of the only places open at the spot at I stood at the bar a while and asked if it was order or table service and the young man replied table service'. "Coffee shop and bake bar in Randwick, they are always busy with parents, kids, cyclists..basically everyone on their way to work or school. They do breakfasts like brekkie rolls, eggs including shakahuka, sandwiches and soups. They do make from scratch but also heaps of ready made food to go like homemade muesli and quiche. It's also a bake bar selling a huge variety of artisan organic breads, scones, pastries and muffins. I got the apple crumble muffin which was fresh and tasty with an espresso for an afternoon pick me up. Worth a visit if you're passing by. Quick service and polite staff. No complaints, but gotta be amazing
