"Excellent hospitality, and amazing food. Myself and a couple of friends stopped here for a respite from the rain as we toured the Yorkshire Dale's on our motorcycles. The owners made us feel very welcome, and even lit the fire for us to warm up and dry some of our gear out. We also ordered some drinks and food from the menu and when it arrived it actually blew us away. It's not typical pub food. Its properly home cooked style meals that aren't just reheated like most pubs, someone put a lot of love into it. Fully recommend anything with chips (as they're home cut and home fried! , and the pies were to die for. Thanks again, we'll be back in no time."

"Excellent value for money. eating is very good, portioning portions are completely reasonable and the prices are in harmony with the other food place in richmond park (except that eating is much better quality.) hot dog had a massive sausage, chicken sandwich had what was like half a chicken breast in there. other dinge we have ordered (Ham-Toasties, rieseneis) were eaten very quickly and were delicious."

"What a farm shop. Indeed, Mainsgill is more a pleasure than a farm shop. Great food with excellent cakes at great prices, always look out for the specials. The range of farm produce is outstanding with their range of meats being the star. You can pick up your favourites and find new ones. They carry sweets, some toys and a great array of gins. Upstairs you’ll find lots of home and clothes on offer. Be careful you will find something you didn’t think you needed. There is a lift to get upstairs so great access but some soles upstairs can be rammed full of products so not always accessible. Toilets are excellent and they have good facilities for covid. If the shop doesn’t appeal then the kids can play out on the swings and zip line or wonder around the animals, which include camels. Be prepared to be patient if turning right when getting out as some traffic passes quickly on the A66. £14 for afternoon tea for one…fab."

"What a brilliant pub and what a loan for the people of the village. we have eaten this week twice and drank here without eating. not only do they have one of the best selection of beer, apple wines and whiskys I have seen everywhere, but also the best eatable none. my partner is a veggie and hates the same price for mushroom risotto or veggie lasagne, as I pay for a decent steak, but she was treated with two different veggie pie options (with short crust paste to die for) but also other veggie options on the plentiful menu. Today was Sunday, we went for traditional roast (nut for her ever had) and none of us. I had lamb and bark that were cooked for perfection and had a lot of taste in the opposite too cheaper meat. they can say that the claims of everything locally produced are true by the quality of the ingredients. veggies come and try it......(they made me sit that if the weather allowed there is a large terrace and garden with unmatched views over the swale valley. child and dog friendly and always a crisp fire at cold weather. five stars only because six is no option."

"What a find! Cosy little gem found in a little village. Food was amazing! We had the cheese soufflé and scotch egg to start and the fillet and lamb shank for mains. It was all delicious, I could have ate 5 soufflés. Will definitely be going again and would 100% recommend."

"Had lunch here with the family on Saturday. What a wonderful place. The atmosphere was so friendly. The staff were really helpful and great with the kids. Food was spot on. Have been a few times for food now and absolutely love the place. Would highly recommend if you're visiting Richmond."
