"My eating was great, the starter was nothing special, but the steak was amazingly soft without chew or fat bits, even if the garnels were a bit burned, so I would say it was a great meal. However, the person I had ordered the same got quite nothing but fat and chewing bits with her steak, so I would say that it is a bit of a hit and miss when it comes to the quality of the food here. but the staff was very friendly and understanding. they even gave us a ticket for a free meal at the next visit and free desserts. so everything in all cannot try too much in any case at least."

"Stopped in for lunch while shopping in St Andrews. First impression was the menu that was sticky and stuck together at our table. My partner had the mac and cheese and i ordered the first choice of burger on the menu. I couldn't order the beer i selected on the drink deal that accompanies the burger as they don't stock it. When i asked why it was on the menu as a selection i was told that it's only available down south in England. Brewdog pale ale is Scottish brewed! I ordered a flat white instead. Our food came out extremely quickly and it was obvious that my burger was not cooked to order as it had dried out around the edges and was lukewarm in the centre, either re-heated or held in a hot hold. The fries and mac and cheese were also lukewarm. I would have said to the staff but nobody came to check back and see if everything was ok. As we ate the supervisor was shouting over to a staff member attending to a tv screen. I felt she could have walked over and spoke to him rather than shout. All in all a poor experience and frankly we wouldn't have eaten if we weren't so hungry. I'm afraid we will not be back."

"Nice and central, you'll find this cafe next the the St Andrews Cathederal, so handy if you're doing a spot of sightseeing and want somewhere to have a bite to eat. Opens early so you can even start your day there with a yummy bacon roll and coffee and they do a discount for the early bird. It is a bit noisy if you're trying to have a chat as it gets very busy at lunchtime but well worth it for the best carrot cake you'll ever eat! coffee excellent and an amazing range of alternative teas from the teapig range, including chocolate' tea. Plenty of room, nice seating and great when you can get a seat by the window and watch the world go by! busy in term time and used by staff and students at the University. They do have a good carry out service too. very friendly staff."
