"Ordered the lamb Rogan Josh Generous serves and tasty curry. Samosas were a good size. May need some more spice in the potatoes. Overall great value for money, we will be back."

"Visited Cafe Saffron with family last night and we were really disappointed. We have been there before and enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. We will NOT go back again though. We waited at the door for 5 minutes because there was no...one at the front desk. He was down in the kitchen checking on a takeaway order. We should have taken that as a sign and gone somewhere else. But we had made a booking. We were seated 20 minutes before they brought us a menu to look at. Yes, they were busy but when you know you have bookings you find extra staff. We ordered the banquet and normally there is plenty of food, however last night the bowls were the same size for 6 as we were previously given for 4 people. The lamb looked over cooked and was salty. We brought our own wine and after asking for glasses I had to go and get them from the bar when the food started arriving. The glasses were all mismatched and didn't look particularly clean. We had to ask twice for water and there were no ice buckets available. So it was lucky we had taken our wine in an insulated bag. The decor has changed and the wall paper was peeling off the wall, the large room has been divided crudely by a false wall, made of office style room dividers. Not a good look either! Private parties one side and the general public on the other. Once the music started for the party, it sounded like it was a bad karaoke night and most of the general public tables including ours left as it was pretty bad and very loud. Cafe Saffron used to have a great reputation for authentic food and atmosphere. Not any more!"
