"3-4 yrs on and I still travel from Brisbane West to eat. Used to live in the street behind when they first opened (I miss that old house). I've basically had it all - Lamb Ala Kandar (wow), Chicken Sambal, Lamb Firdoss, Chicken Chennai, Lamb Sagwala, Chicken Ayam Madak Merah (double wow), Beef Redang, Beef Vindaloo, Goat Curry...all of them masterpieces. The spices, texture, tenderness....you get the drift.Let me state something incredibly important - the portion sizes are epic.... twice the size of anywhere else - Sitar (Albion, Coorparoo), The Spice Avenue (Birkdale), Curryville (Morningside), Grand Taj (Carindale), Taj Mahal (New Farm), Punjabi Place (West End). I've been to them all...I don't know why I bother. To the chef Mamak - its George here, listen up --- > you're going overboard. .....drop your prices or drop your portions....ppl will still come....you are seriously ridiculous some nights.PS, I use to bring them home-grown chillies....I knew he threw them in the bin thinking "what's this weird Aussie doing"....lol"

"After our movie, we headed here for dinner. <br>
I usually avoid Indian places that serve the standard butter chicken, roganjosh etc fare, as I am not a big fan of UK Indian food which is usually very unhealthy compared to normal Indian food, but the claim of healthy Indian food here made me quite curious to try it out.<br>
We ordered kadai lamb and paneer butter masala with rice, roti and garlic naan. We ordered the kadai lamb 'Indian hot' and the paneer butter masala 'regular hot'.<br>
The kadai lamb which I felt was the best dish of the evening, was indeed hot and spicy, with well cooked tender lamb. However, the sauce needed to have been cooked a bit longer as the flavours had not quite come together. Overall, this dish rated a 3-3.5. <br>
The paneer butter masala was sweet which made the dish somewhat unpalatable for me. It was a creamy dish, prepared in a similar way to a butter chicken sauce. I would rate this dish a 2.5. <br>

"We ordered takeaway from the Himalaya Sagar and we were very pleased with the quick service, reasonable price for 2 mains butter chicken, lamb masala, naan bread and rice for $35. We were given 20% discount as first time customers ordering on line. Overall the portions and taste of the food was excellent and we will definitely eat there again."

"We used to LOVE this place. The special rice and butter chicken was to die for.... im not sure if management or chefs have changed due to the fact that each time ive given them another chance, im left with bland tasting food. Maybe thats why the place is forever deserted?"
