"Lovely little coffee shop in the village of Edzell. Came in for a late lunch and was delighted with a cracking panini, some lovely teapigs tea and a biscoff rocky road that is frankly the best rocky road I've ever had. I'd eat that rocky road to the end of my road. Little one was treated to a nice sandwich and some diluting juice with a straw and had a wander round the shop. Wish we had more money to try some of the farm shop produce."

"We went from arbroath to the same day and needed somewhere to lunch. I stopped here and what a surprise for such a small place. it had a log fire burning, the personal was very welcoming and happy in the position to find us a table. that was nice eating, all house cooked at a very affordable price. it wasn't just great, it was great. I have since recommended it to anyone I said as a place to try if they are in the opposite. will definitely be back."

"... Philologically, Veneration derives from the Latin venerare , meaning to regard with reverence and respect. I first saw this beautiful word used on the grave-stone of a very dear friend whose occupation was 'Agricultural Contractor '. ... However, today we visited The Plough for a bite to eat, yet again, as promised, and its menu read: simple good food, but with great promise, just like the last time reported. And was this extra promise performed? You bet it was ... and with the lack of the Angus Council 's draconian parking restrictions in The Plough 's street, at least. At best ... was the service and the food in the very pleasant bar cooked by a hidden culinary gem of a chef and served by the barman/owner. I had Scampi with Chips and an Egg and my wife opted for a Macaroni 'n Cheese dish, both of which, for under six quid each, were as great a light lunch as one could wish to have ... And we were far from alone there ... the dining area was busy for the hour we spent in the bar with what looked like a happy, regular and satisfied bunch of folk. Venerate any business that sets out to serve its customers with dignity and offers to keep open the doors to true value for money. The Plough ploughs forth along this honourable furrow."

"Ordered jumbo sausage supper and it was cooked to order which was pleasing. Was OK, but felt the amount of chips was on the small side. Easy to find in the town centre."

"I have special dietary requirements as I can only eat very small amounts. I normally choose from the Kids Menu. This evening I had the best Kids meal ever beautifully cooked fish pieces with chips and mushy peas. The fish was so delicious very fresh and flaking apart and the crispy batter was out of this world."

"We all had an amazing evening last night for my Fathers 80th birthday get together, a big thank you to all the staff for there such warm hospitality.The food was lovely every plate on our table of 13 was empty and they all said the food was superb, so a big thank you to the kitchen staff we all loved it.The waiting staff who served us where just so nice it just made the evening even better.And a big thank you for putting up some birthday banners too.I am so pleased with how the night went and i think having it in the Castle Club made it so much better. Thank you all for your hospitality Mr Sean Esplin"

"To begin it is spotless. Really inviting, super little cafe. The man that runs the front of house operation along with the other staff are very friendly. I've been 2 or 3 times and had coffee cake and I've had a meal all were excellent. I was there with my husband when I had the meal, and the portion was generous and tasty, and with a friend for the coffee cake the cakes were lovely. I would highly recomend a visit, you won't be dissapointed."
