"BackWerk in Mainz is located in the middle floor at the station, next to a hairdresser. In addition to the escalators at the top or bottom, there is usually an advertising poster on which croissants are advertised for 59 cents. The prices that have risen a little lately are much better than most other bakeries. Unfortunately, in some products, and in my opinion, the Croissant also belongs to quality. Some things just don't taste fresh. In the croissants there is the problem that the taste of butter is strongly absent. Well, these products are more exception. I strongly recommend the baguette rolls (not the Kaiserbrötchen), the Paderborn bread (I think it's so hot) and all leaf baked products (e.g. filled with spinach). Croissants and Brezeln are not recommended. Backwerk has a great value for money, where hardly any bakery can withstand and is centrally located in the train station. It is also great that this branch is open on Sunday, so you can also taste a bread or rolls at good prices, like supermarkets all have and roll in other bakeries as twice."
