"I have visited here a couple of times recently and have been pleasantly surprised. To be honest I had avoided the place as I remembered it from an earlier incarnation and not as it is today.<br/ <br/ The decor is pleasant enough, old coffee bean bags on the walls some artworks. The style may not appeal to all, but it is what it is. There are some comfy chairs near the entrance and then your standard cafe style tables and chairs.<br/ <br/ Both times I have been here the place was clearly frequented by a number of regular customers who were clearly known to the staff. However, I was greeted pleasantly and looked after by the staff.<br/ <br/ My experience of the food was that it is tasty, promptly served and of a good standard. There are one or two minor niggles though, butter comes in those horrid catering portion packs, a real hate of mine; further I felt the serving of banana on my porridge was somewhat niggardly and although my poached eggs were good, part of the bacon rasher was over cooked beyond the point of crispy. I will return as I want to try some of the cabinet food, the pork pasties having caught my eye."

"The staff and food are fantastic. When my daughter didn't finish her meal, our waitress came to check if the meal was alright and offered to provide a replacement meal. We have never had that level of service before anywhere! I highly recommend Tūtaki Cafe."

"Have been going to curry star for over 6 years, it is my go-to curry. I stayed in Melbourne recently and could not find one curry place that was as good as curry star. They will be the first place i go after lockdown. Best butter chicken and naan i have ever had!!"

"Came here for the first time. Got a Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken. One of the best curries and Biryanis I've had in a while. Will definitely come back again"

"One of my favorite place for afternoon coffee or brunch. Always enjoy to having coffee there with beautiful harbour view. Especially when weather is fine. The only disadvantage is they do close at 15:00 or 16:00 in the afternoon? So, we always need to finish our afternoon coffee before that time"

"The best Indian in the Hutt Valley. Don't be put off if it seems empty there might be 100+ on one night (really! they have recently had 130 apparently! and then only a few around u the next, but the regular flow of take away customers says a lot about the food quality. If they were 3 4 blocks to the west they would probably be much fuller every night, but its the food that matters, not the location!"

"Bestttt Burger and fries of my life can’t remeber what burger I got but holy moly it was soooo juicy and had so much flavour also got the popcorn chicken fries aughh to die for seriously, a little bit of a wait and couldn’t use our cash but overall was pre good"
