"Lovely historic pub with attentive and very polite lady serving. Only went in for coffee. The Latte was great but sadly my espresso was not as kicking as I would have liked. Of course, that 's personal, and maybe a one off...but I would return! They also seem to have a fantastic selection of wines by the glass (see photo) Must try next time!"

"Finally venturing to places now lockdown is over and while planning a sunday morning motorbike rideout with some friends, I thought we'd go to the Shack cafe as I'd not been there before. My 1st review in quite some time so thought I'd share my experience. We sat outside and was taken care of quickly, making the service helpful, friendly, polite, thus, Great. Food was smashing. Don't let the transport cafe aesthetic fool you. Top notch. Been there again since as my mate wanted to eat there again, never a bad idea. Will visit again"

"My wife and I were staying at the Lismoyne last Thursday and Friday and, unfortunately, dined Friday evening when the hotel was hosting a Fawlty Towers' dinner event in another room and thus our order, we were informed, may be a little delayed; it was...delayed so much that I complained, suggesting that, whenever there was a function the hotel should employ extra staff, only to be told that they had done. In addition to the tardiness of service, the service itself was deplorable, not one part of it being right first time. The barman was drafted in to serve drinks but he, clearly, was not familiar with the table plan as he didn't manage to deliver one order to the right table once and we got glass of wine rather the bottle we had ordered. The food was very good when we got it and, perhaps, on a midweek night when the waitress wasn't chasing about like a headless chicken, the experience would be good but I can only report haw it was when I was there. I will comment on the hotel here as well to make this a little more balanced. We had a lovely room (bathroom a little snug), very comfortable bed pillows and the breakfast was buffet' style rather than cooked to order' which I think is never as good but I order porridge and poached eggs to overcome part of this; I do, unfortunately, have to state that, again, service was terrible, the girl who started to serve us just didn't give us her full attention so we got tea instead of coffee and she forgot to ask whether I wanted white or brown bread with my poached eggs so had to come back. Again, I think that part of the problem was that people had stayed overnight and they just couldn't cope with the volume which made me wonder how frequently the hotel is full."

"A really good Indian restaurant. The cuisine is wonderful, fresh and delicious, all dishes having clearly distinct flavours. I have to admit to being a bit of a curry snob (and addict) but this place never, ever fails to impress. And the service is superb."

"Booked and pre paid for afternoon tea for my mums retirement, phoned and confirmed booking day before. On arrival we saw the host who clearly has not received any training in the role. She was looking for a suitable table to sit us so already...we were now already waiting a couple of minutes, now it is clear no table has been set up so she seats us at another table. Five minutes after, ģshe returns with menus and says hopefully someone will be over in a minute to take an order. No one returned, we sat there for minutes with nothing and I had pre booked and paid. Packed up our things and asked to speak to the manager who actually apologised then said I am trying to think of an excuse but can't I asked for a refund and explained it was for a special event which is now ruined. I felt so upset, trying to do something nice for my hard working mum and it was ruined by lack of training and care/ poor management. Manager refunded me after charging me again, even after a written complaint direct to the site no compensation was ever offered which makes me think customers don't come first in their eyes. Retraining needed all round and unfortunately I will never return or at least give it a very wide berth for a long time."
