"This place is really cool. Amazing vibe and really delicious traditional food. Just tell them you’re vegan and they can tell you exactly what you have to choose from. Lots of choices and all delicious and at a good price. I wish I had come here sooner as this was probably our best meal in Istanbul. Buzzy traditional food joint. Love it, go just go!!!"

"If you book and restaurant got your trip to Istanbul let it be Aheste. I walked in without a reservation but they managed to find me a table and boy, was I happy they did… the menu is better suited to groups as you get to try everything but they kindly offered to serve me half portions so I still got the chance to sample various dishes. I started with the sea bass in yuzu, tuna in a crispy shell and a tomato salad with grilled fennel. All excellent! Then I had the vine leaves and the miso glazed pumpkin, the latter was really out of this world. Finally I had the grilled octopus which was done to perfection. I was convinced to have some dessert and again the pumpkin with tahini was a highlight. They have lovely local wines by the glass, cocktails and don’t let me forget the bread they serve is some of the best I have had this year! Lovely waiting staff as well and this place deserves a Michelin star though it might get harder to find a table then! Loved every minute here."

"I don’t normally write reviews but this deserves mentioning. I did the tasting menu on a recent trip to Istanbul. Absolutely terrible. Most of the dishes were beyond salty and had senseless pairings. Dry fish and peach sorbet? Only two dishes were worth mentioning a vegetable based dish with filo lattice dough on top and the oxtail. I had a delicious wine but the food was just not up to snuff. Would not recommend going here by any means. Atmosphere is not worth paying for inedible food."

"I came here and was amazed at this traditional fermented local drink. it is thick a bit sour and sweet, with cinnamon covered. I only saw locals and you're gonna grab your drink, pay and go. it was 12 lira at that time 03-2022, the less than 1 euro, so very affordable. it is near the aquaduct, but this was under renovations unfortunately "

"Went with my friend for a catch up and a brunch. We ordered side dishes and salads. We ordered يلانجي Stuffed Grapes vines, fattoush, shawarma salad, بابا غنوج، متبل and Ayran. The service is extremely slow, we sat upstairs. The waitress was clueless, knew nothing about the food. We waited for 15 mins for decent service. The food was authentic, delicious and fresh but way overpriced! The decor and details of the place made me feel back home! However, they are in need of new staff. I would recommended this place for small dish not dinners. Overpriced for no good reason."
