"First visit but definitely not the last. Really delicious food. Everyone ordered a different dish and remarked how “homemade” each tasted. Great, clean facilities. Cheerful, and patient staff. It’s challenging to find an eatery to suit all ages and tastes, but Scott’s have nailed it. Loved the bespoke children’s menu too!"

"I like food. I love food. I’m obsessed with food. I think that there’s such ample choice available to consumers and such competition nowadays that there is no need to get a bad meal out. Outside of Dublin, I’d argue that Kilkenny is the foodie capital of Ireland; you have top restaurants, catering to almost every cuisine, all competing in the city for your custom. Statham’s at the Pembroke Hotel is right up there competing with them all for top spot, and an awful lot of people don’t realise it yet. Dream team chefs Ken Harker and Peter Culverhouse are serving up some of the best food this side of The Pale. We attended Sunday brunch yesterday and I was aware of their ability, I had forgotten just how bloody good the food was. Between three of us, we ate six main courses and each bite was better than the last. Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, nachos, even hash browns, all exquisite. I ordered the Scúp ice cream for dessert, just to kill time, not expecting much. Icecream is icecream, or so I thought until I tasted it. The hazelnut, banana and raspberry was bursting with flavour and was melt in your mouth creamy, to the point where I had to stop myself from ordering a second dessert. In a past profession, I directed tourists to some of the top establishments in Kilkenny; if it was not top class, I did not recommend. Statham’s at the Pembroke is a 10/10 meal and experience I would recommend in a heartbeat for any occasion. Try it. You will not be disappointed."

"I can say without hesitation the breakfast given to us was the worst plate of food we ever encountered anywhere consisting of overdone reheated of deep fried sausages ,bacon and pudding. The fried egg was shocking . We left in a hurry to go elsewhere and regret paying for the disgraceful food we were served. We will never return"

"What a glorious setting. Around the back is a lovely outdoor area, tables and pods for small groups. Plants and lighting make it really magical. Pods have small heaters knee blankets. Inside the main building, there is an atmospheric snug, which apparently can be booked for private groups would probably seat ? max 10 15 ? Friend and I were there on a Monday night so really quiet packed on the weekend apparently (strongly suggest booking for weekend). We enjoyed dinner and drinks in a lovely setting. Lots of parking too busy chatting to discover if they had wifi ! I'll be back !!!"

"Don't know where to start with how good this place is. From the moment you walk through the door you feel so welcome. Seated at a lovely big cosy table. Went here with 2 kids and they were very well accommodated. Scrumptious was one of the superlatives they used to describe their food. As for the adult dishes, well any words I would use wouldn't do them the justice they deserve. Every mouthful was heaven with great combinations. The service was very friendly and helpful. Next time I am planning a trip to kilkenny I will be doing my best to book another sitting. (Translated by Google) I don't know where to start with how good this place is.
