"My wife and I had the grandkids for a day and we decided to try somewhere new. Initially I came to Batley to show the kids the home of Fox's biscuits and pick up some things from IKEA for my eldest and figured we might...be staying a while. We came to the Pheasant to get a nice sit down just to get out of the heat. The kids had lemonade and we had some teas. I didn't get the name of the young lady who served me but she was very polite (I've had issues in the past with other Green King pubs where people didn't look like they cared). We all felt very welcome here. There's a nice atmosphere and the lady clearing the tables asked if we were alright which was a very nice touch to the service. After feeling a bit peckish we got a takeaway to drive home with as we needed to get away, suffice to say it was delicous and if we're ever in the area again I'd be sure to visit a second time."

"I visited here for brunch on Monday the 2nd of October and was digusted and saddened at how the animals are kept. These animals are living in small crammed conditions and exhibiting bad welfare. One of the ostriches housed was repeatedly biting the caged fence, there were 12 goats crammed into a small scratty enclosure, no fresh hay or water. Breeds of llamas and goats were mixed, not to mention one goat in a pen by itself showing clear deteriorating health. One of the horses had yellow puss coming from its eye. I was seriously disturbed after coming here! whoever is in charge of those animals, you should be ashamed of yourself."

"Been a couple of times now. Large airy building with what I think are comfortable seats. Good range of coffee cup sizes served at the strength temperature you want. Coffee is good we found the service to be excellent. I think a lot of people use the place as an office, sitting over a cup of coffee for many hours working on their laptop. Parking is excellent. They do light snacks the like we'll be trying these upon our return."

"The personal is very friendly. I have chicken ass, tears and a naan. the curry was delicious, not a word of a lie. the naan was flocky and the rice was soft. if I'm in the opposite, fortunately I'll come back here."
