"Found this place on Yelp while on vacation, the reviews were good and after eating here I couldn't agree more! Ramon was our waiter and he was fantastic! The service was friendly and fast. We had coffee, juice, mimosas, 2 different Benedicts, fruit covered pancakes, and a MIYW omelet. All were fresh fantastic! The atmosphere was great with indoor and outdoor seating available. If I didn't live 1700 miles away this WOULD be my new favorite breakfast place...! Regardless check it out yourself and enjoy a great meal!"

"This place is a real jewel! We were in the area at an event in the nature centre Deane Dana Friendship Park. After the event we were in the mood for waffles. Not only does this place have waffles, but they have so many possibilities of food to satisfy every desire! Waffles, pancakes, Hawaiian sweet bread bottle toast, Chilaquiles, loco mocos, Omelettes and lunch items too! Note: I also do not speak of a vanilla weak sauce style of pancakes and waffles; You can dress them as you want! The quality of food and portion size is phenomenal and every single person here is so friendly. The ambience is very comfortable and nostalgic; something we enjoy and love very much. I strongly recommend this place and will be back!"

"Came here on a really hot Saturday even though the Long Beach area is NOT really cooler than Los Angeles. They have comfortable patio seating on the sidewalk where the street traffic is not threatening. Their menu is Mediterranean, which is a mix or Middle Eastern Italian. Service was friendly but not very attentive. Had to go into restaurant to get ordered iced tea and then straws. My friend ordered the Lasagna $14 , Iced Tea $2 and I got Lamb Chops w/roasted veggies with Tabbouleh Salad $20 , and we shared the Calamari Fritti $12 . Quite reasonable prices. The Calamari were very good but the menu said they came with a SPICY marinara but it was just bland so they brought me some chili oil surprise! that was quite spicy good. The Lamb Chops 3 were perfectly cooked and delicious but the Tabbouleh salad was not the traditional with bulgur and parsley but a variation w/semolina 'beads ' and almost no parsley. To his credit, the owner I assume served our food and said no problem if I wanted to change the salad. Didn 't taste it till he left and it was OK, a bit bitter, but I was enjoying the lamb chops and got full. My friends lasagna was a large portion but flavored differently that from an Italian place and she said it was just OK. She got a nice salad with it. I would go back for the lamb chops alone but there were other items on the menu I would like to try."

"I found this place in San Pedro. I was actually going next door to the Mexican food restaurant but it was closed that day. I am glad Big Nick's Pizza was open! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The ambiance was nice. Not what you'd expect from their little strip row of shops location. It was nicely built out and had great decor. It has two sides to it. One side is where you place your order/kitchen and the other side is a cozy dinning room with a bar. Wood paneled ceilings and walls with dark rich stained wood. Beautiful stacked stone adorned the top section of the walls from the wall panels up to the ceiling. Nice lighting, it wasn't too dark that you couldn't see but dim enough to feel relaxed. looked like a great place to eat, relax have drink and mabye catch a game on one of the many TV screens. Clean restrooms too. While we were waiting for our food, we kept seeing dishes of great looking pastas being served to other patrons. My wife and I went for a light lunch. We both had a slice of pizza and we shared a Greek salad. The pizza was fantastic. It came out hot to the table by the server. The crust was great the toppings were plentiful with just the right amount of cheese. Perfect. I had sausage and pepperoni, my wife had mushrooms and black olives. Both taste and texture were outstanding. The Greek salad was unique. All vegetables. No lettuce or any leafy greens. It had tomatoes, bellpeper, onion, cucumber, kalamalta olives, pepperchinni peppers and feta chesse. Balsamic dressing was the perfect dressing too. Everything looked, smelled and tasted delicious! Washed it down with an old fashioned creme soda. What a surprise as we are not local to San Pedro but do visit friends there. If you are anywhere near San Pedro, do yourself a favor and eat here. You won't be disappointed. Great friendly service, great food and great place to sit and enjoy it all.
