"The seafood chowder is the best I have ever had (and I've had a lot! . The cajun chicken sandwich was also a tasty favorite with my son and husband. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. "Island Cottage is one of my favourite restaurants. John Desmond, the chef, is amazing! You have to take a ferry to Heir Island and walk about a mile up to the cottage. There, you’ll be greeted by Ellmary and shown to the sunroom for drinks and an amuse bouche. The menu is set there’s no choice and it doesn’t matter. Everything you eat is delicious. The wine menu is modest (but perfect! and you get a starter, main course, cheese course, dessert and coffee. Fab! Highlights? The steak with a morel sauce, the ceviche of salmon, the crêpe soufflée and the palmiers (if you’re lucky enough to get them as petits fours Would HIGHLY recommend. A true gastronomic experience."
