"My fiance and I were vacationing in Tahoe with some friends and we decided to break away to have a date night here. When we made reservations we noted that it was for a date night and they sat us down at a table that was next to the window and what a view! It really set the tone for our night and made it so special. I wish I remembered our waiter's name because he was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of all night. The customer service was excellent! My fiance and I both started off with some martinis and we had a really nice time sipping on our drinks while watching the sunset. For starters we each ordered the lobster bisque. The creaminess and richness of the lobster pieces was really soothing on a cold night. I thought it would come out as a cup, but to my surprise it was a bowl of soup. We probably could've just ordered one and shared that bowl of soup between the two of us. For entree, my fiancé ordered from the prix fixe menu and for additional charge he got the cowboy steak, which was a really good deal. For a la carte the cowboy steak is $140, but the prix fixe menu is $100 and an additional $50 for the cowboy steak. So for $10 more you get an appetizer and dessert essentially. Now that's a steal! I got to try some of his steak and it was so delicious and prepared well. We went to Hell's Kitchen 2 days prior where he had ordered a steak and let me tell you...he preferred the cowboy steak. It was that good! I myself ended up ordering 2 appetizers as my entree tuna tartare and half a dozen of oysters. The tuna tartare sat in a bed of thick soy sauce and it was overpowering and I couldn't really enjoy it. I told my waiter this and he immediately took it back and took it off the bill. If it wasn't for the too much sauce it would've been a really good dish. But I still give this place a 4 star because of the excellent customer service. My waiter felt bad that he offered to bring me some shrimp and crab, but unfortunately I was already full and knew I couldn't eat anymore or else I would've taken up on his offer. To end the night my fiance had the chocolate cake from his prix fixe menu and it was a perfect and decadent sized cake to end the night. This was definitely an experience and hope to be back one day to try their other dishes."

"Ivano's is by far my favorite place to eat in south lake Tahoe and one of the best restaurants I've been to period. I've been looking forward to coming back here after some time away and I'm extremely saddened to hear the passing of Ivano. "Caitlin was nothing less than amazing! I called a Thursday to have made a cake for my wife's birthday and delivered him to a Monday and I had no idea where to start. I knew I needed a cake DAIRY FREE, gluten FREE and NUT FREE. On the first call she could go and lead me through her website and help me choose the perfect cake. She could also make Lemon bars that were DAIRY FREE, gluten FREE and NUT FREE! Well, Saturday morning, things became interesting as I received a note that the road we live on Monday day of delivery CLOSED!!! ... I immediately called Caitlin if we could get the cake one day early.... She said yes! We will do this!!! Sunday afternoon!! Caitlin got the BIRTHDAY CAKE LEMON BARS ready and they were nothing less than AMAZING!!! Who knew DIRY FREE, Gluten FREE and NUT FREE birthday cake and lemon bar can taste that good!! My wife was very impressed when I told her about it. My experience with Caitlin and her team was so amazing, the communication was fantastic, I will definitely buy again from her!!!"

"This is Dr. Di and my husband Professor Breunlin. We are from Chicago. We were at the restaurant on the 4th of November. We were celebrating my husbands 76th birthday. It was a horrible evening. They told us to leave because we were intoxicated. This was a complete misperception given we had food and a total of three drinks. My husband believes we were profiled at the time we entered the restaurant.. I had on a scarf symbolizing gay rights rainbow scarf) and we were speaking Spanish. I am 65 and per yesterday's birthday) my husband is 76. We were totally lucid at the time we were told to leave. Given our age we simply do not drink that much. Upon further contemplation we believe our treatment was some combination of homo phobia, racism and agism. The really need to do some employee trainings . We do not recommend this restaurant."
