"We were on our way from dousland to tavistock to get fish n chips for tea ,on the spur of the moment we thought we would try the chippy in horrabridge,we used to go here alot ,but stopped going as it had new owners,how great...our visit was,the server was very friendly and made us welcome,the food was lovely really big portions and great value in fact we are going again this Saturday."

"What a great sound. surely they book a table when we were there on Thursday night. the staff was attentive and knowledgeable, the young man we had was friendly and warm. the child food has generous portion sizes and is as high as the adult capital. I shared a tomahawk steak with my wife, medium rare as recommended, it was juicy, tasteful, with sweeter chest out of the open fire. my daughter had the bone! the chips were hot and crisp with a small sea salt. the salat was simply amazing, not only salat leaves, gurkentomaten. it had all this, but with a casual part of fresh crumbles working with the sturdy aromes of the flesh. really great eating and at a very reasonable price. it is so hard to find a restaurant that offers something more, something else. they will not be disappointed."

"Wow this is a gem in a small street in Tavistock, we came all the way from Plymouth for a fresh loaf and came away with pasties which were out of this world, macaroons were Mmmm, scones were so light and the best I've tasted and two uncut loafs 1 granery and soft white were sublime and could have been a lot more every thing was so fresh and tasty. Will be back real soon and everyone should pop in and enjoy the friendly service."

"We ordered 2 Cappuccinos but they were more like expresso coffee with some over hot nearly boiling milk added. I imagine the staff had not been fully trained. Compared with two other coffee shops that I use one in Launceston and the other in Wadebridge which I would give 10/10 I would probably give Beech Cafe about 1/10. Also the cafe was busy and we waited about 20 to 25 mins for the ‘cappuccinos’ to arrive."

"Admittedly, we just stopped in for ice cream and cheese, but these are good indicators of the quality of the place. Perhaps the best ice cream we had on the whole 3 week trip dense, well flavored. I tend to be a traditionalist (read: less stuff in the ice cream, more good, basic flavors. Cookies, M Ms, etc. are distracting debris in my book. The coffee flavor was outstanding. My husband, the sorbet fan, loved the flavors. Also packed to take home from the freezer. We also got some cheese from the well stocked case (stilton, cheddar, unique vaieties... The breads, bakery and deli look very good. Pre made meringues can make you look like a dessert genius if you take them home for your dinner party. Tables inside. The building is on the square with benches if you 'd prefer to be outside. Definitely make a stop when touring Dartmoor, or look for their ice creams if they are sold elsewhere (not sure about this. 'Would love to have this place closer to where we live."
