"For a special birthday dinner, we had a lovely evening. The atmosphere is a little too loud perhaps for an intimate date night, but the food more than made up for it. I had the fillet with bearnaise and she had the rump with peppercorn...sauce, sharing fries and a creamed spinach plus some olives and a Manhattan. We were both confident that they were some of, if not the, best steaks we’ve ever had. The spinach was a bit too cheesy, and the olives were an absolutely massive portion for the price. The bill came to £108 including service, which is expensive however we were able to use an OpenTable dining voucher to bring this down. The manager made using this very easy (even if the waitress struggled to understand us), which is rare in that programme as most nice restaurants don’t accept them."

"We brought my nieces here for dinner. It was warm enough to sit in the pleasant beer garden. We had mains, desserts and a bottle of the current wine selection. The food was excellent, three of us had burgers which were delicious, a good sized portion, very tasty with plenty of cheese and a very nice spicy sauce. The chips were excellent too. The sticky toffee pudding served with ginger ice cream was possibly the best we had ever tasted! The meal was not cheap but was fairly priced for the quality and location."

"The group malmaison hotel has just launched its new sunday brunch menu “Mal am Sonntag” and will be available across all 12 of the groups boutique hotel chain. I ended up in the malmaison in barbican a hidden gem in a beautiful quiet part of this industrial area. the hotel in the interior is very modern, located in its boutique feel and oozes luxury. unfortunately we didn't stay here, but we went down to the restaurant. they call this new menu a brunch, but it's more of a banquet, I can't remember the last time that I ate this much in a session (not that I sit for two though I once). for £19.95 you will get the suppe of the day, hors d’oeuvres from the kitchen table, which is an upscale buffet style with unlimited visit very dangerous. and finally you dessert. for those with a kater they do a big bloody mary, and also the champagne bellini was very well made. the suppe was mushroom and estragon, I always seemed"
