"I was so hopeful for Simms as a regular appointment night place, as we are new in the area. Unfortunately, there was very little about our experience that went well. We enjoyed delicious cocktails at the v bar before our reservation. While we loved the bartenders and tasted our drinks delicious, we saw as drops of other drinks spilled into the ice reserve several times. Once our waiter sat down gave us a few heads that things were a little messy, because some employees called in the last minute. We can appreciate this as people who (and one of us still working) have worked in the service industry, but the waiting period between the courses was unacceptable. The crab cakes were good, but nothing extraordinary, and the steaks and sides we ordered (from gratin potatoes and framed spinach) tasted cheap, like something I would have made at home easy. I sent my steak back (it came from medium well when I rarely demanded medium), and the second steak was just rare, possibly even raw in places. I couldn't wait any longer so I ate what I could and brought the rest home. The spinach had to be heated again as there were huge pieces of cold cream cheese in the bowl. For over $200 this was super disappointing. We're not going back sadly."
