"First, the cuisine was generally good to be honest. Second the first impression of the server seems to be professional and sold us a suggestion of menus. Third, and unfortunately the catastrophic part of our experience Osteria Romana di Modena was the service; there have been too many negative things happen during our family dinner and too many different servers interacting with us: As the red wine (40 Euro bottle) for us was too warm, we asked the server to put the bottle in cooling vessel but instead he was putting the wine in a decanter first as he wanted to pour the wine in glasses with ice! Then the other server noted down our order wrongly and forgot after the starters/antipasti the ‘pasta-primo piatti’ and brought us (another server) instead the ‘meat-secondo piatti’ – we said we wanted first the pasta and then the meat we have ordered; afterwards the server after having brought back the plates came back and told us there was no more meat to prepare our dishes and we were ‘obliged’ to eat the ‘secondo piatti’ and refused to get served afterwards the pasta-primo patti (they wanted to bring us). And finally, the dessert we ordered first was ‘sold out’ afterwards!! The most annoying part of our experience in this restaurant was the arrogant server not admitting the errors caused and did not apologize for all. When the bill came not even the coffee was offered. Ultimately, I had to explain to the manager what happen, apparently he was ignorant about all the ‘mistakes’ caused – event if at the end we got 15 Euro credit, the overall bill was high, an very expensive restaurant for a lousy service."
