"We were in the church in Altenkirchen and were hungry and thirsty. Just opposite the church we discovered the shields of the small farm café, where, for example, an apple throw according to Grandma Art and a cup of coffee for 3.20 Euro were offered. Amazing how we are now, we had to look at this. So we went between the houses to the court. In the yard there were fixed tents and parasols built, on the front there was still a small beach basket in the sun. Since the weather was very warm, we liked to take the places under the roof. At 13.00 there was not much, except two small families with your children. The owner was alone at the time and asked for an understanding of the waiting times. Since we're on vacation and had no time pressure, it didn't matter what we waited for. When we waited, we saw how much love the plates were decorated that went to the two families that looked very good. We ordered the apple wort with and once without ice cream with a normal coffee. The cake was homemade and really tasteful like Omi, the coffee was also very good. Tuesday and Thursday the smoked oven is fired there and then redfish is freshly smoked. This time we didn't make it, but for the next time we're on our plan. The operator has the Hofcafe already in the 9th season and if it continues to be operated with so much love and commitment, many more seasons are added. Absolute recommendation from us!!!"

"A small old café with retro-poor and always fresh homemade cakes. No factory. Beautiful selection of cakes and pastries. The Rembrandt cuts and the chocolate bananas are highly recommended. The good quality has been convinced and therefore it is recommended to arrive early or make a preorder for larger mangens. Since many foreign buyers arrive, the fresh products are often sold by 15-16."
