"We got thrown out of the bar because we had ice cream but not enough consumption. 8 people. The boss was clear! Everyone eats or you leave. We're gone. bravo for this gentleman who gives a poor picture of this village. Ice cream is excellent."

"For our 22 years of common life I sought a gastronomic restaurant on the island. After several researches I fell on the site of the gourmet restaurant held by a chef. So I booked a hotel room to take full advantage of this moment and to avoid driving after the meal (when we already made a one-week reservation in another rental.) on site, we realized that the card did not correspond at all to what was described on the site; a Scotch was put on the panel to mask the gastronomic writing. We canceled our reservation to eat, and went without the only dispo d'ars restaurant because everything was booked this weekend of the allies. I would never have booked a room for 130 euros at night under these conditions. I do not criticize the new restaurant because we did not test it, I criticize the use of the old description to bring customers. It's not fair."

"I can't understand why this is considered the top restaurant in Ars-en-Ré, it's a take away crepe shop with a few tables outside. Having said that, the lemon/sugar crepe I ordered was ok, there was nothing wrong with it, it wasn't terrible or poor, but...by no means the best crepe I've eaten. Being served on a paper plate didn't help, but for 2€ you’re not expecting excellence. I can't comment on the ice cream. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly and really gave the impression they enjoyed working there."

"When their neighbor got us coldly, telling us that at this hour (13h50). We no longer served, we went to the v and there the reception was not at all at the same level! smiles and politeness were at the rendezvous...But it was not our surprise when the dishes arrived. Good plates garnished with good quality products (I recommend the ocean plate)!the view on the port does not spoil anything, on the contrary!I will come back to make me happy!"

"We ate at the bistrot de Bene as the restaurant we wanted to eat was fully booked(note to self: book beforehand!)Our disappointment soon turned to delight. The food served was very flavorsome and we can recommend the tagine de poissons et langoustine (no s at langoustine as only one in the dish, that was a bit mean)! with preserved lemon. We found the service good enough if a little slow but it was a very beautiful late summer day and the restaurant was very busy.We would go again."
