"On the way to winter holiday in the south you will find a stop in Bad Dürrheim. The advantages are obvious: located near the highway, has a huge Sole-Therme, a sauna area and adequate medical care – and offers a variety of gastronomic offers, including hotels, guest houses and apartments. However, the place is always somewhat fragmented and unharmonic: in addition to corners that emerged from the 1970s, more modern grows, extensions, enlargements, which rarely give a coherent overall picture. “The years ago”, just before the New Year 2016, I was a guest in Bad Dürrheim, this time in the Soleo am Park, which is part of the Best-Wester family. Pros: an absolutely central, attractive location in the middle of the city center, directly opposite the well-maintained spa park and the free SOLEMAR parking for guests (you put an additional ID from the house into the windshield – and where the parking lot is otherwise heavily regulated! c the hope for a good international standard. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in many points. The fact that my supposed superior room had a pretty balcony, but it wasn't something to do here, there are other rating platforms... But the gastronomic offer was thoroughly underground. I used the generous bar and lounge “New Home” (arrow name – didn’t even give a hand-resistant scandal in the last century?) as well as the breakfast buffet in huge halls, which are certainly also used for other occasions (congressions, meetings? and possibly in earlier times belonged to the spa house. In both cases the interior was somewhat irritating: While in the “New Home” rustic plaster sought modern painting and a zebra-patterned carpet, in the food halls next door there was an ambience, as I recently met on Mallorca holidays in my youth: huge, barely structured and divided spaces, icy air conditioning (or simply not heated?) , unpure tables, collapsing dishes, little cosiness – rather a touch of mass production. The wooden doors in the nearby kitchen and the wooden ceilings seemed to be in my original condition and needed urgent renovation. In the “New Home” I was a guest several times. The rooms are located in the 1st OG, where a discharge staircase or an elevator leads. In the afternoon you will be alone with the professionally coveted bartender, but after dinner it will be so full that you will not get any free space anymore. In the absence of a wardrobe or sufficient storage area, many guests simply placed their coats and scarves on the floor, which gave an unsightly overall impression. Worth seeing are the psychedelic toilets around the corner: such tiles are not found anywhere. In addition to a variety of drinks, the card also has small dishes; you can also find some recommendations on the slate board above the counter. That the generous cocktail of the day is nothing special, just as the standard card is removed and not offered at a special price, something disappoints. My Gin Tonic was incredibly affordable for 4,00 euros, was stylish and served with lots of ice cream. At the wine choir (4.40 Euro) I could still start negotiations and select a Spanish Crianza whose bottle was taken to my table so that I could do my best. Great service. A catastrophe, however, is the flame cake offered. They come from the freezer and can either not be crimped because they were coked (as in the afternoon with another guest are observed or hardly looked up and give a sad sight: without decoration, without individualism, without pep. Here are 7.80 euros too much. The dilemma is that the bartender should also serve the kitchen that clearly overwhelms him. For this he radiates through rhetorical questions and obvious fatigue. To the breakfast buffet only a few words: bone-dried, cut-resistant eggs; artificial red-coloured sausage; delicious cereals. Sometimes the cups were out. Even not every guest knew how to use the coffee machines unintentionally – they simply wanted more service. What I liked: a beverage machine in the foyer, where you can get soft drinks around the clock, as well as with citrus flavor water that is spent free. In addition, cough bonuses that can be used well this season."
