After this alternating history: first use as a nunnial monastery, later then as a monk monastery and evangelical convention. in 1944/1945, the monastery Brunshausen was then called KZ as an outer camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. Today there is a museum of the history of Brunshausen and the monastery of Bad Gandersheim. Other parts are used as a cafe and event location, also as part of the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival. In the courtyard of the monastery, in the monastery garden and in the café, the visitor finds endlessly many and also very beautiful works of art by the owner Bernhard Löning, who has been making a name with his art since the beginning of the 1980s. The ceramics and concrete sculptures in the courtyard and garden enter a symbiosis with the planting and the buildings. "At 7 p.m. we enter the Bistorant – Bar Cafe Flexx with a small group. It is good that we have reserved – the store is full. We knew the choice of the restaurant, so the order went a bit faster. I chose duck with red cabbage and lump, as dessert a wintery surprise. This was later depuffed as ice cream with cream and panacotta on raspberry sauce. I ordered a Alster. At 6 pm Hungry is then served by the amuse geul: stagterrine on leaf salad with pomegranate. Salad with pomegranate very interesting, the deer dish very discreet in taste.
