"We were ignored by the staff when we first entered, leaving us standing around like dinguses. Once seated, however, everyone was quite pleasant. We had the corn fritters and eggs Benedict. Not the most interesting, but still delicious! I don't know what happened with my latte, though. It tasted like the foam was just scooped out and thrown on top. It was decent flavour-wise. Overall, it was OK. Not the worst, not the best."

"Basic food trailer in permanent location. It's claim to fame are rotisseried meats in rustic location. It's out of the way, but it does a good trade with tradies, Defence Force personnel and people working at Canberra Airport.Don't expect a lot, but what you get is quite good. The Shack's new location (800m up the road from its old one) now has stacks of room, easy parking and ample tables and chairs. Ordering is easy, pick the size of your bread roll, your choice of meat (pork or lamb) and the accompanying sauce. Other additions (such as caramelized onions) are available at extra cost.My choice of the smallest size (6" slider), pork with apple sauce was adequate and quite nice, even though there was none of the delicious sounding crackling mentioned by other reviewers. The bun was good, the meat moist and tasty, and at about $9 fair value for money."

The potato scallops were such a guilty pleasure, crispy and golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside and paired with a well seasoned hollandaise sauce. The duck buns were criminally small for the delicious flavour. The pumpkin tortellini was moreishly sweet and paired perfectly with the burnt butter and sage sauce. The witlof salad was underwhelming. The beef cheeks were mouthwatering and fell apart with the lightest touch; well accompanied by the mash. Exceptional desserts in the popcorn sundae and the popping candy lemon curd tart; both dishes with hidden wow factors which added to their quality - certainly a great way to end the meal. <br>

"I'm a great fan of the Trimboli establishments - they set a high and consistent standard for Italian food in the national capital, from fine dining at Mezzalira, the buzz and great food at Italian and Sons, and their terrific cafe, da Rosario. So it's strange that I've only just sampled their other eatery, Bacaro Wine Bar.Bacaro nestles at the back of Italian and Sons. I recently had an early dinner there when I (foolishly) fronted up at Italian and Sons without a booking. We could have sat at the bar in Italian and Sons, but that's a very tight space. Instead, we took up their suggestion and tried Bacaro. Delightful. My wife and I shared a couple of excellent starters - portobello mushroom and seared scallops, followed by a puttanesca pizza and caprese salad to share. Plus a nice bottle of a smooth chianti. There's a fire going and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. And space - the tables aren't squashed in.Bacaro is not cheap, but the food and wine are really good and all done with the authentic Trimboli flair."

"We only had cakes from here but it was so good we went back the next day. The food looked amazing too and they sell cocowhip. Great gluten free cakes too."
