"I wandered in wanting a snack, but found the staff didn 't know what was vegan their menu only has a symbol for 'vegetarian '. One item (a brownie) had 'vegan ' in the description and the waitress said it wasn 't, which was confusing! Also things like the apple pie were apparently not vegan. So my options were limited, but in the end I got a nice turmeric latte with coconut milk and an acai whip with fruit. It was nice sitting at the wooden bench out the back in the sun, watching the ocean. It 's table service only, and I waited ages for the acai whip, but I was on a long weekend chilling out so it didn 't matter. The only other disappointment was that the acai whip came in a disposable cup (with 'compostable ' spoon I 've heard these actually take ages to decompose) even if you 're eating in. All in all, not really a vegan vibe here, but good enough if you 're in the area, and it 's a nice setting, with no traffic, and an ocean view out the back."

"Called in with a group of 9 people. We were quickly found a table and served. The wait staff are pretty good controlling the floor like they had done for years. The drinks menu is extensive and reasonably priced. With great entertainment I will recommend this venue for repeat visits."

"Wonderful first empression for a Saturday lunch upstairs dining. Starters are a great group choice to share a few different dishes. Loved the fennel and pork pizza. Cocktail menu has a great selection and very prompt service."

"My favourite coffee spot in Gold Coast! Very cosy spot off James st. Their signature coffee beans from Cleanskin is the most unique and flavourful. I have been to several cafes on the coast but nothing beats Canteen Coffee. All the staffs are very friendly especially Camila."

"One of the worst food experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was cold, flavourless and came in tiny serving sizes. The lasagna looked like it had been dropped before serving. We sent a message to Vecchia Roma after but never got a...response. The new owners obviously don’t care about what used to be a great restaurant. Don’t order the steak!"

"I had 3 potato scollops and a medium beer battered chips! My partner had the beef burger! ! OMG AMAZING the chips alone were amazing! The best potato scollops ive had since I was a 13 year old boy. Amazing!!! I highly recommend this joint!!!"
