"This place does not accept credit cards. Who does that these days? Went to get a muffin for my 4 year old daughter. There was a line so you can't see the small sign at the cash register that says cash only. So they took our order before we got to the front of the line. We watched as they went and got the muffin and bagged it and placed it on the counter. My daughter almost had it in her hands as I went to get my card out of my wallet. They scooped the bag with the muffin back and said sorry but no cards. Not a problem for a grown up to understand but difficult for my little girl who burst into tears. I understand it is the cafe's choice to accept credit cards or not but these days it's so easy too. If you are not going to take cards place better signs."

"We received a 2 for 1 coupon in the mail and having lived in Hawai'i for many years, decided to give Duke's a try. It is not easy to find but despite this, we did manage to find it and the small cafe was okay, with some Hawaiian artifacts around. he staff was friendly and explained in detail the coffee and history. We ordered the regular brewed coffe and while the price was okay, the coffee was not good. We do not recommend this place to anyone who is familar with Hawaiian coffee. For really good coffee from Hawai'i, order from Lion or some other coffee from the islands and have it shipped to you, We never tried the location inside Kaiser San Marcos but since we did not like the coffee at the Los Vallecitos location, we did not see any reason to try the other location. Again, if you are a fan of, or familiar with Hawaiian coffee- avoid this place, The coffee tastes like dirt, very sorry to report- but for anyone who might wish to know exactly what we did not like about the coffee."
