"If you find yourself in Gold River B.C. - and you really should! - a stop at the Uptown is de rigueur! Great coffee, hearty food and just the right amount of country sass!Sharon runs a tight ship and the food that comes out of her micro kitchen is awesome! We've made a stop (or two or three!) a firm part of our annual trip thru Gold River on our way to Nootka Sound - in fact it's one of the things we look forward to each year!Oh, and in a town with no cellular service, the Wi-Fi (free when you eat) is great for catching up on what happened while you were 'off the grid' - all in all an absolute must! I miss your breakfast hash already Shar! See you need year!"

"A nice comfotable place to stay while in Gold River. Our room was basic with a double bed that was very comfortable. Also had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Nice size bathroom with tub. The only thing we noticed was that the bathroom floor was not very clean and towels are quite thin but were changed daily. Nice view of the mountains from our room. Also they did serve breakfast in the morning and had a nice variety of items."
