"We spent a few days camping in Golden and came across The Island. It was a short walk from the campground. We sat on the patio for a lovely summer evening and the ambiance was lovely. The food was outstanding. The service was the same. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"This looks like a brand new store, with lots of seating, even a fireplace. The food is standard Tim's, but staff didn't seem to be very happy, not sure what was happening. Blank stares, no greeting, got order wrong. There was no camaraderie amongst staff, maybe the store needs new management?"

"Like many chain-restaurants "Ricky's" has the usual suspects on the menu, and as a result, all family members will find something which is well prepared and tasty. We stuck with salads and an addition of chicken. One of us opted for the chicken burger minus the bun. It was a nice slice of chicken breast- not some ground-up chicken- with a salad wrap and a choice of soup, salad or fries.The place is well known and busy, but waiting time for the food remains reasonable."

"Love the laid back atmosphere and the high caliber of the serving staff and the amazing food. Our server was Sarah and we told her she was the best in the world. We have been in the area for days and been to restaurants...all over and also been to restaurants all over the world. Sarah is elite, top of the class of the class if there was one. She did everything right: brought drinks and food on time, checked on us every so often and she even played hostess to a small group that was waiting at the door. All of this with a smile as wide as we have ever seen. We would go back just for her. We also loved the food. We had the best poutine ever! I know right? Golden, BC?? But we had the one with Montreal smoked meat and let me tell you we are poutine nuts. We try poutine every time it is on the menu wherever we go. This was a delight. Our burgers were awesome: California Dreaming and Mayan and we chose Gluten Free which means they swap the bun for lettuce. So delicious. I can’t imagine putting a bun around such amazing food. By the way the place was packed by pm on a Wednesday night."

"Stopped for gas here and wanted to have a bit to eat. Restaurant was closed, and the rude attendant really could care less if I was there or not. Never got off his chair or phone, and I was the only customer there.I used to stop in here all the time, but I won't bother anymore. I asked about the AMA card as well, and he just said we don't cater to Albertan's.Well buddy, 90% of your traffic is Albertan's so good luck with your business. To bad Husky's name is on your gas station, as they would want to know how they are represented."

"Enjoyed dinner in late March before the restaurant closed for the spring. The new chef is amazing - passionate, knowledgeable and pedigreed in the slow food and farm to table movements. Expect more great things from this perfectly located lodge."

"Loved the vibe of this little place. Pass through a new book store on the first floor to some stairs to reach the cafe and used book selections. They serve up a nice latte, and offer some fresh and tasty sandwich options that would make a great lunch. A few little tables to sit at and enjoy the cozy space, or browse around their used books. If it's summer, try one of their unique housemade popsicles - love the spicy mango and spicy pineapple flavours!"
