"This was recommended to us by staff at our hotel. The cakes are all locally made by what looks like a family run business. We had tried traditional cakes elsewhere but these were definitely the best and the coffee was good too. Don’t be put off by the state of the building."

"The restaurant is away from the main square and tourist route but well worth seeking out. The food was excellent and portions are big. We had as main courses Rojoes (pork) and Vitela (calf). The Vitela was probably the best vitela meat I haver had, it was very well cooked, tender, juice and tasty. They might have a different dish of the day. I have heard the bacalhau (codfish) is also good. The house red wine is ok. The place is small, so you should book in advance or go before the rush hours. Furthermore you can literally sit in the kitchen and watch the dishes being cooked. If you want to experience really typical food and mix with locals I highly recommend this place."
