"Greetings ... you ought to give this place a try. Easy to find ... easy to park ... It is right on the river. Best to go during the daylight if you want to enjoy the river view. Night is good time. Cool breeze and plenty of seating with sturdy chairs and tables. There are several seating areas with plenty of large tables. One area for private parties has glass partitions. I have been there several times. My party is usual 12-16 women. We bring our own treats to share but mainly feast on a wide range of sea food provide by the restaurant. This last visit was the only time we had trouble with an understaffed section. Management jumped right in and took care of us. The foods are wonderful and we are happy with the selection. On a personal note I dislike all the straws cafe and restaurants use ... (once and toss out) along with smoking and unsupervised kids. Mot hai ba Yo only reminds me of drunks alcoholic showing off. Not at all impressed. But I digress ... Check out the place and enjoy a wide variety of foods, nice breeze and life on the river. thanks for the read."

"I am a none vegetarian, but i love Shamballa place and menu. The food offers a wide variety of really tasty dishes, where i did not miss my meat dishes. For lunch a 2 or rooftop diner party there is enough choice a great surprises to my taste buts. The staff is attentive and explains and advises without overloading your table with dishes. Great atmosphere a cozy relaxing place in this bustling town i love it and will return (often)"

"We were thrilled to try this place, the menu looked great and the mood was very nice. We were impressed by the series of vegan pastries and tried the chocolate babka it was delicious! But unfortunately, the hearty food and service was not very good. We tried the broken rice listed on HappyCow as bestseller and got the combo with the Papaya salad. The two dishes were not served together, it seemed like they forgot the Papaya salad until we asked. And the flavors were really of only 1 or 2 of the sides for the broken rice were good, the meat was glazed with an overly sweet sauce, and the fried noodles had a very strange 'off' taste. The Papaya salad was very hard and hard to eat, and the sauce tasted strong by salty Tamarinde(? that did not go with the parrot at all. When we brought our worries to the waiter, he just said that it was because we were not familiar with how to taste food. I've eaten broken rice and Papaya salad often in Vietnamese restaurants, and they were all much better than that. So sad we went away quite disappointed."

"This place has been transformed several times over the last few years. Currently, it is a cafe on the ground floor and a restaurant on the upper floor. You can get coffee and juice in the cool and dimly lit cafe, and perfectly prepared food for lunch or dinner in the restaurant. The menu is small and focused and everything is fantastic. The restaurant kitchen is sort of open-plan style like you sometimes find in a Japanese Izakaya so you can sit around the bar and watch them cook. Note that this is a vegetarian restro, with some items including egg or milk as default. Most things can be modified to be vegan. I only wish they had plant milk options for the coffee."
