"Even if the food were lousy, finding a restaurant in the middle of a forest would be quite a delightful surprise. As it happens, the menu is extensive, and the food is excellent. There's even wi-fi. Oh, and half of the "restaurant" inside is actually a bookstore! (All French-language books.) In good weather, the patio outside provides a fabulous place to spend a few hours; in bad weather, what better refuge could there be than a French café in the woods?"

"Here is a house we love: we are well received, we eat well because it's simple and good: menu at 11,90€ full, we eat like at home of the small succulent dishes, we feast and the staff is adorable. like we'd like to have a lot of restaurants like that! Bravo and thank you!"

"This bar has been here for many years in the xcellent hands of David Neal. Yes a bar based on British pubs but frequented by people of many nationalities. Popular with the rugby and sport crowd in the separate section at the back. You can...eat well for modest prices."

"I am surprised that we did not serve the plague after the beer, which not only gloomy and smells bad, but had huge crumbs in it, but the vile drinks knocked in usignifikness compared to the rude, argumentative and aggressive proprietress. when we politely pointed out that something was very wrong with the beer, she claimed it was from a new bottle of local beer and refused to accept that it was something wrong with it. I've seen sediment in a local beer before, but that looked like someone broke into the glass. they began to tell us that she was too busy to discuss it when they cook crepps, we said we were waiting for her to be done, but that made her even more. we had also asked for a water carafe that she originally forgot, we asked ourselves again and when she finally didn't bring her a goggle. after half an hour we just left thirsty and humiliated by the aggressive treatment we had received. we knew there were ries in huelgoat, but no one warned us before troll."

"This was the only restaurant open on a tuesday following bank holiday. Menu looked ok with pizzas etc. tried specials on main menu - leg of game bird (pheasant?) which was very ordinary in a very ordinary sauce with indifferent carrot fritter trhing and slightly better potato pancake. They charged 7€ for their special kouign amann-flavoured icecream which was more like a caramel pudding. Just tired and pricey for what it was. Sad really, the village is in a lovely setting but just after a bank holiday in early May the village looked disappointing. Symptomatic of the French economy for small businesses je pense."
