"We were in Kenmare last week, called in here for a bite to eat and a drink. No Chef on so said we would stay for a drink. Our drinks were totally overpriced. €14.55 for two drinks that were not cocktails! We were the only...people in the outside area which explained why. Davitts next door was full in their Outdoor area. We definitely won't be returning here when we return to Kenmare."

"John M Reidy’s has to be one of the best and maddest pubs I’ve ever been to. There are two entrances at the front, one for what looks like a regular pub, the other more if a coffee shop. However, you’re in for a surprise as you make your way through to the back as there’s a number of other rooms, booths, bars and serving points, including a nice cocktail bar, an Irish coffee bar, an area with a giant screen showing sports and even an outdoor bit of sorts. It’s all a bit mad, but just fantastic too! Great vibe on the place and something for everyone. Visited a few times, sometimes for beers , sometimes cocktails. All great. A must visit if you’re in Killarney"

"We were staying in Kenmare for three nights, so we had to pay a visit to the Brennan Brothers establishment. I am a fan of At Your Service and Francis Brennan in general. We decided to pop in for a tea/coffee and biscuits on the Wednesday afternoon of our stay. Firstly we had stroll around the grounds which are in a beautiful setting and very tastefully planted and maintained. We then went up to the hotel, as we approached the door, John Brennan exited the hotel using his mobile phone. He politely paused his conversation and wished us a Good Afternoon and Welcome, before leaving in his car. The young door man was effusive in his welcome as he was in ear shot of his employer, he barely mustered a grunt as we were leaving later. On entering we where greeted by another staff member inquiry as to how he could help, upon answer he escorted us across the hall to a drawing/reception room where we were greeted by a young Spanish woman. This is where the visit became like a an episode of carry on hoteling. She took our order in charming lisping English and proceeded to fold linen napkins over by the piano, whilst peering through the plants out to the foyer on her tippy toes .A couple of members of male staff came in and she either touched and patted their faces or else they put an arm around her waist and gave her a friendly squeeze. Meanwhile she kept trotting back and fort to us every 5 minutes asking us if we where happy with everything, want anything else etc. Also 4.95 is a bit steep for 4 small biscuits. We were giggling so much at the absurd behavior by the time we left we almost forgot to pay. An entertaining interlude."
