"It was busy in Lichfield and a couple of our usual places to eat were busy, we had walked past here on several occasions and decided to give the place a try- what we should have done is kept on going We walked in and...sat down, staff were very uninterested despite only ourselves and one other couple in the place. We looked at the menu, both of us were seated in a position that we could see into the kitchen area (not on purpose to spy it just so happened that was how we sat) one person was at the counter, another woman was washing up and putting the cutlery away. That was when we saw the woman washing up drop two knives and a fork on the floor, casually pick them up and put them away with the rest of the cleaned items. At that point we both looked at eachother and decided to leave, if an establishment can't supply clean eating utensils (or care enough to) then what will the rest of the place be like (including the food Staff didn't even bother to ask why we were leaving clearly either not at all bothered about their trade to care or it's so regular that they are used to it."

"Suppen are all homemade and delicious. excellent Sundays carvery with a great selection of roasted and sweet in the offer. the place is licensed, so there is a small but sufficient selection of alcohol to go with their meal when they choose. if they are vegetarian/vegan, give them a special diet and tell them their requirements before their visit if possible. very recommended for Sunday dinner, as the place is often particularly busy at this time. there is in the rule a special table . the carvery is served on a table/arrival because this is a small place, they do not have space for 20 people in a waiting queue, also make it safer. that's just a money business."

"Usual standard of coffee. Used the outside seating area not long after opening Rubbish bin nearly full so would question when this was last emptied. Decking could do with a sweep to recover cigarette ends and cutlery abandoned Pleasant staff"

"A perfectly situated station for those living nearby, though the access arrangements on the Lichfield side could definitely be improved I don't like having to share the narrow roadway with cars jostling for position. Now that elevators are being installed, access for disabled passengers should be improved substantially. :"

"Sitting outside, I glanced over at the bigger breakfast that was served on my neighbour's table. That's a lot of breakfast I thought. More a food challenge without the cheap winners t-shirt prize. It looked awesome: 2 bacon, a cumberland sausage, three hash browns, 2 slices of fried bread, grilled tomato, beans, mushrooms, black pudding and 2 fried eggs. My stomach was still recovering from the enslaught of cheese I had for yesterday's lunch. Else the bigger breakfast it would have been (a steal at £10). Instead an oat milk flat white was all I needed to calm the belly and warm the hands. The female staff members were attentive and humble. The rate at which breakfasts flew out of the kitchen onto peoples tables was reflective of a well run cafe. It may have been cold, but I enjoyed relaxing outside amongst the Lichfield revelers on Bird Street. As always I headed onwards to The Cheese Cavern to fill my bike's luggage compartments with France's finest."
