"We went to this Cafe as we heard it had changed hands. We decided to order two small entres. I had the Cuttlefish and my husband the deep-fried Camembert. My cuttlefish was delicious. I did ask the waitress her recommendation and that was it. My husband also enjoyed the Camembert. We noticed they don't do platters anymore, as we often go to Houghton's for family birthdays and like to order platters,and plates of chips, and pizzas. Hence my daughter chose not to go there because of that. Maybe you should review part of your menu as I have heard this from a few people, and you could be loosing business. I would go back as I did enjoy my meal. The staff were also very helpful and friendly."

"I just had my third visit to Oakover. The first two were in quiet times but this one was on the public holiday. I was expecting them to be busy (just like everywhere) so I pre-booked a table.We arrived a little early so decided to start with wine tasting before lunch. We were standing at the bar for quite some time before we were acknowledged, but once the tasting started she was quite quick to come and offer the next sample.Our table was ready straight away at our booking time then orders taken promptly. Whilst they were busy, they were certainly not at capacity - there were a few empty tables around. The time between ordering and meals arriving was 50 minutes. I was expecting a bit of a wait but I felt this was a little too long.The food was not bad, I had pork belly from the 'small' menu, it was $21 and it was very small - a little overpriced for what I got.We shared some sweet potato chips which were delicious.I would come back again but perhaps not on a public holiday."

"I love this place! We have visited on numerous occasions for family birthdays, Mother's Day and Sunday lunches. The setting is gorgeous and the platters are fantastic. Denise the chef is constantly changing the menu and it is always great. We have never had the same platter twice. She has even whipped us up a birthday cake on the day at the last minute, although I would highly recommend that you pre-order one as she is so busy in the kitchen. Her cakes are so delicious . The staff here are wonderful, so attentive and friendly. We will be back."
