"Snowbird Mountain Lodge is our favorite place to celebrate our anniversaries. Nestled in the beautiful remote mountains and accessible over the spectacular Cherohala Skyway or the famous Tail of the Dragon from Maryville, it offers beautiful, serene mountain views, delicious meals, and a friendly staff. We love staying in one of the small private cottages with a terrace looking out on the mountains. It is a magical place in nature, providing a yearly respite and regeneration. It’s memory long lingers in one’s imagination. Snowbird has nature trails, lovely unspoiled forests all around and Lake Santeetlah below, as well as Natahala white water rafting nearby as well as the magnificent Fontana Dam. Also nearby one can reach the scenic Smoky Mountain Highway en route to other destinations."
