"We've been to this restaurant twice now and both times it exceeded our expectations on every level. The service is magical without it being overbearing and the food is just delicious and consistently good. Being a veggie I had the veg lasagne both times and it was perfect. I tried the brownie tonight and it was by far one of the best brownies I've ever had, rich, moist and gooey without being dense, do not miss it! Sadly we leave tmrw but we will remember this place for all the right reasons. Thank you Team Makao"

"Hands down best coffee in Salento!! Smooth but strong and great value too. Iam sorry that I didn't take a photo to show as he did the perfect leaf in my latte (always a good sign). He also serves a little treat with your coffee for free. We will now go here every day we are here in Salento!"

"I tried coming to this place three times during my one week stay in Salento, twice on a Sunday at 11:00am and 1:00pm, and once on a Wednesday at ~1pm. It was never open! So I'm not sure how good it is, but I bet it has a great view. The sign in front (which wasn't there on Sunday) said its hours were from 12:30pm - 8:30pm (I might be wrong on the closing time) Saturday, Sunday, and holidays."

"I was there only once for a meal and, despite the food being pretty decent, i accidentally caught a very disturbing conversation between the owner a Spanish man and one of his employees (or should we say 'slaves '? Long story short, this bad excuse for a human being treats his employees, specially women, like garbage and to top it off, he steals for himself the customer 's tips, of which none of the personnel gets to see a single cent. He 's also well known in Salento for the awful way he treats people who doesn 't agree with his managing methods. Definitely, not recommended at all. Salento is plenty of awesomely good restaurants and hostels where employees are very well treated. Please, avoid Casa La Eliana . The fact that the owner resorts to empty and continued threats instead of trying to clarify the situation says a lot about him as a person."

"Last year we traveled to the Coffee Region of Colombia. One of the beautiful towns we visited was Salento.We arrived at lunch time, ready to enjoy some typical Colombian cuisine. While parking the car, we stumbled upon a curiosity - an Israeli flag flying above a restaurant.It turns out that the owner/chef is a Colombian lady who lived for many years in Israel and was offering a mix of Israeli delicacies with a Colombian flair.Very fresh, delicious and reasonably priced food, with personal attention from the staff. Family owned and highly recommended"

"This little place gets less hoopla than the #1 rated coffee shop next door; however, the coffee here is very good they don't make quite as big a production preparing and presenting coffee, not explaining every step along the way. The simple crepe is a great light lunch when you need a change from Arepas. While many other coffee shops aren't open in the morning, this place opens at 10am - one of the earliest options around town."

"I went with two friends on a Wednesday evening about 8 pm. We were told beforehand that the kitchen would be open until 9.30. We waited 1,5 hours but were offered an free drink. The humus was good, the salad was good but there was too little of it. Good bread, a shame it was cold. The falafel were horrible; hard and dry and completely unedible. A very disappointing experience - never again."
