"We used El Campanario mostly as a bar and not a restaurant as it it right on the seafront of La Barrosa beach that we attended most days at some point,,,,,,we were always warmly welcomed and in the main had drinks, Ice cold beer Fanta or a tinto de verano were served quickly, the Tuna salad we shared one day was crisp and tasty as was the fried fish on another afternoon. there was always locals playing a game or two of dominoes and although i didn't join in i felt i would have been welcomed. we noticed that other diners plates were mainly emptied when collected."

"A real cidreria, with only locals. I went there for a business lunch and it was packed full of locals. Located in the area of the city dedicated to the cider production. We had the proper menu cidrero, with both fish and meat. For starters we had two types of bacalao (cod fish), first with green peppers and then with potatoes. For main an absolutely wonderful rib-eye, surely the best I had in Spain to date. Fantastic and plentiful food. For drinks we had a really great local cider. I never saw the bill, but the place looked very affordable. Highly recommendable."

"An institution of San Sebastian that is worth every penny, or euro and shouldn't be missed. As foodies we have been fortunate to have visited many michelin starred restaurants around the world. We have to save for it, so its important that we get perception of value. Arzak was up there in our top handful of destinations we have visited. The last restaurant we visited before Azrak was Le Manoir in Oxford two stars it couldn't hold a candle to the Arzak experience the food the service were three star and beyond. Elena the Chef apart from being obviously supremely talented must be the most personable, most friendly and engaging of the three starred Chefs we have had the pleasure to meet. The food was exceptional , the ambiance sublime, and even the wine list (we like red wines and the pairing is predominantly whites) is sensibly priced and as you would expect extensive. Its easy to see why this pace has been starred since 1977 and three stars since 1989 and it still deserves every one."
