"Here is the deal: if they are not hungry, thirsty or are not interested in a great prospect of the sea, then they do not go here. also, be warned, some proportions could be more than they could eat (although if they try, they will enjoy it!) the great beer selection could bring them to drink. no grim, rude or indifferent staff here. only a friendly owner who takes care of his mozens. So if I stopped you from going here, huh? we did it and we went 3 times in 3 weeks. ps if they work from an old google map, this is located on the top level of the shopping center centromar not on the water side of the road. "Went to this place while by-passing the north cost places on Madeira island. Wanted to buy one drink and visit toilets and when we came to the desk to buy, needed to wait couple of minutes even though zero customers were buying anything. Tried to greet with smile the staff and they basically grunted greetig with attitude ”f*ck off”. What a nice way of starting customer interaction in mainly tourist service business and also succesful way of doing long-term business! After we got the order made, wanted to pay with card as we didn’t have cash at that moment. The staff guy went to payment terminal and clicked process to point in which I can’t see price he put on the machine (checked beforehand the price on the shelf and it was 1.5e, see pic). After I got the receipt on hand the price was 3.5e. I asked how can that be as there is 1.5e price in the shelf and the guy answered arrogantly that it is the price for the water. Every single product on the shelves were priced under the product so this can be considered as a rip-off and I don’t recommend anyone to bring any money for this business unless you want leave the place with negative feelings how can anyone do work like that with that type of attitude. If there was real pricing mistake, why this moron didn’t do anything to fix the mistake after I notified about it? Well because it was either a rip-off or the people working there are not anyhow interested if this place die tomorrow or after two years depending on how deep pockets the owner has."

"This is a very friendly bar and restaurant opposite the Monte Mar Palace Hotel run by a lovely local. Its cold drinks refresh you when you have walked back up the steep hill from the village harbour on a warm day. Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by."

"The London bar is situated in the centre of Ponta Delgada, if such a rambling, spread place can be said to have a centre (it's near the mini market, ATM and garage! . We stopped here for a drink at the end of a levada walk on our way back to our hotel. First place visited in Madeira so I had to have a poncha a local speciality made from local rum, lemon juice and honey and it turned out to be the best one of the holiday because they pressed the lemon juice and made the drink while you waited (not very long unlike all the other places tried which had some they had made earlier and kept in old pop bottles or jugs on the counter. It made such a difference."
