"I have had the privilege of enjoying coffee and a scone here on many occasions. Sometimes it is at the end of a long bike ride, sometimes it is meeting a friend and catching up.This is a dog friendly zone and I am looking forward to bringing my pup here sometime."

"Food was pretty good. Portioned nicely and hot when it got to out table. Waitress has a the tendency of not coming back with your change even if your change is $20 or more. I personally love to tip especially if the waitress/waiter did a great job but I would like to make that decision on my own. She's not done this twice. She didn't do a great job. Was bothered everytime we asked her for something. You could tell by the rolling of the eyes. She did have a full house so im sure she was overwhelmed. I will probably be going back but hoping to sit elsewhere and not be attended by her. Other then that great place to eat."

"Dan the owner greeted my daughter and myself at then counter with a sample of soup.The aroma and taste of this dish was not to be denied We each had to have a bowl along with a lovely panini Roast pork, Brie, and apple butter. We finished off our meal with an espresso and a mocha chino. Oh my. It was a very snowy afternoon and this little respite was the perfect place. We will be back. The restaurant is right on the main street of St Jacobs. It is definitely worth the drive to this beautiful community"

"My husband and I ate here for lunch today. We had eaten at the Cedar Barn several times through the years. Your basic "bacon and eggs special" kind of place, very popular with the locals and the working men in the area. Kara's is quite different, and anyone walking in expecting the Cedar Barn experience will be disappointed. Having said that, I did like the idea of it, as we try to eat as healthy and local as we can. This is a cafe, not a restaurant. You order at the counter and help yourself to whatever drink you have chosen. I ordered an egg and spinach sandwich. Not sure what I was expecting, it tasted good, but I personally don't like soggy whole spinach on a sandwich, I found it hard to eat. Also, Although the cafe was pretty empty, it took about 20 minutes to get our sandwiches. We weren't in a big hurry, so that wasn't a problem for us, but it might be for someone on a tight schedule. One thing I thought was great is that they have local produce and baking for sale. Lots of organic things too. It's not a massive selection, but everything there looked good. You can also get a prepackaged sandwich meal, tuna or egg salad for 7.99 or so. So, handy if you want something to go.Overall, if you are a person that likes organic, local, healthy foods, they are certainly putting some effort into providing it. it's great to have the choice."
