"We had a week in Cusco and ate at this cafe three times -- for dinner, lunch and a snack. They make great versions of causa (potato and tuna slice), rocoto rellenos (stuffed peppers) and a potato dish (can't remember the name). The rocoto was the real stand-out! The limeade was a little watery, but we might not have noticed had we not had sensational ones in the central market.The service was cheerful and enthusiastic. Cusco is packed with tourists so I was impressed that staff remembered us on our second and third visits.The cafe closes about 9pm, so don't be late."

"This lovely cafe just a few blocks above the plaza de armas offers an excellent set lunch for 8 soles. This includes a soup, drink, choice of 3 mains, and dessert. The quality of the food is much better than other places at a similar price point and it is nearly impossible to find anything this affordable closer to the plaza. They also have great teas and a nice selection of travel books in multiple languages. My husband and I visited a handful of times during our 2 weeks in cusco and would highly recommend!"

"I am travelling in south america and love live music, in cusco lots of people say san blas is the place for this. but when i first got to san blas all i found were very bad cover bands that were stupidly loud with singers who dont know the words. then i discovered la taverna, if you are in latin america the music you should go out to listen to is latina and the taverna does just that at a volume that doesnt offend anyone. well done nick and katty, great tapas, cheap drinks and brilliant offers with free drinks every night."

"Tienen un aproximado de 20 platos a elegir, de los cuales el 90% incluyen alguna carne. Son platos bastante generosos, de un plato tranquilamente pueden comer 2 personas y los platos están entre 20 y 25 soles. El lugar no es muy bonito, es bastante antiguo y rústico y los baños realmente sucios, eso es lo único malo. Pero la comida si vale la pena si se desea comer bien a bajo costo."
