"Let me start by saying any rating that I give is based on a subjective scale of value and quality. If prices are lower, the food and atmosphere don 't have to be as good to get a positive review. In this case, Mash and Marrow did not live up to its positive reviews. Prices are relatively high for what you get, and the atmosphere isn 't great. The staff was inattentive and seemed like they had better things to do than take care of guest. I had the crispy pork belly and there was nothing crispy about it. Chewy would be a better descriptor. Downtown Des Moines has a lot of great places to eat. Unfortunately, this is not one of them."
