"Great location, staff were friendly, reasonably priced. The salmon was delicious and very fresh! The made-to-order fresh juice was also very nice. Highly recommended if you are down by the beach."

"Stumbled into this little restaurant for a quick lunch. It did not disappoint, with tasty and quick food on the table, reasonable prices for the magnificent view which is thrown in for free! Our original table had another party sit in front of us and our table person immediately helped us move to another table with a view. Special shout out to Mitchell for being considerate and attentive. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Saturday night dinner downstairs for six. It was good as it was fairly quiet so were able to hear our conversations. Staff were very attentitive and jovial and joined in our banter. After we placed our order, drinks and house bread & oil and their spiced pepitas were quickly presented on our table, a very nice surprise. Our meals were delicious and filling especially the slow cooked lamb shoulder which came with a bowl of jammy black rice. We ordered potatoes, greens and pumpkin as extra sides, and they were devoured. Definitely worth going to."

"Holdfast Shores is like the Docklands of Melbourne. Looks great, beautiful location, but for some reason it doesn't seem to pull in a tone of visitors. There are some gem restaurants however, and Oyster Bar is definitely one of them. The food was spectacular, priced on point, and the service friendly and helpful. Perfect for a sunny day of grazing on the kind of food you only get on special occasions, and a bottle of wine. If you love seafood you definitely won't be disappointed!"

"Had a lovely meal and drinks here, there were 4 of us, and no complaints, all very nice and that wonderful seaside experience was had by all of us, who then had to gtravel back to a very remote area, the sea and everything that goes with that, was top notch."

"WARNING
Knowing, you can attend any of the establishments
in Glenelg, why would you want to be in a place like this?
As a person with disabilities I can never return,
never have I been treated so poorly by another establishment in ten years. I
have a lawful mask exemption and was threatened with violence by a person in
the bar. After I reported the alleged incident to security, that individual who
was friends with the owner was allowed to continue their disruptive behaviour
and I was asked to leave.
Additionally, throughout the day from I
witnessed the darker security guards’ and this same person approach drunken
women and coerce them into conversations and even ask them for photos and phone
numbers. Not only is this out of the job description of security and management.
It is creepy, ill, and disgusting behaviour. As a parent this behaviour is
seriously concerning and troublesome.
Moreover, you can attend any of the many
establishments in Glenelg but after reading about the incidents and the one
star reviews of this establishment, why would you want to be in a place like
this?
In my personal experience I would recommend you
seek caution when allowing family, friends, daughters and sons to be in this
environment. At the end of the day people can do whatever they please and those
who have free will may continue to visit the Jetty Bar but as of today br/>I won’t attend this bar until the management have
undergone further training, the security guards have been changed and the laws,
regarding treatment of persons with a disability become aligned with the;
Disability Discrimination Act, br/>However, You must ask yourself what your morals
and ethics are if you hangout or work in a place that is condoning disruptive,
violent, and discriminative behaviour towards marginalised or vulnerable
populations of people. Including those who come to an establishment for safe
and responsible service of alcohol and then become vulnerable using a
depressant drug, while hanging out with friends or family.
In a turbulent time when small businesses are
suffering losses it must only be a matter of time before this place begins to
crumble. It may take years before potential profits of loss are realized and
management enact better safety and practice policies regarding mistreatment of
people and proper training of security.
Although time may not be on my side, I would
imagine just as the Nike store eventually closed down in Marion Shopping Centre
a similar fate may occur. Although the building may withstand the test of time
the people running this business will not and the costs of ownership will only
increase and as those costs increase so will the price of the food and drinks.
Then you really must ask yourself is it worth it?
Could you get better service or entertainment from organisations such as the
Terra Sol, Marina Sunset Bar or Pier Restaurants, Moseley and Grand Bar/Hotel
or any other business offering food and entertainment in Glenelg.
Furthermore, change your logo and rebrand as many
times as you would like, the invoice may not come today but god eventually
catches up with everyone.
Thus, you can attend any of the many
establishments in Glenelg but after reading about the incidents and the one
star reviews of this establishment, why would you come here?<br"

"In an area where restaurants are average and very average, this place is a standout. The outlook is Glenelg Oval which is just as pleasant on the recent rainy days as it is when the sun is shining. The dining room is large and tables aren't too close together and all staff are very friendly and efficient. But it's the food that really makes it a local star! There is a large menu of restaurant basics and some interesting dishes such as Crispy Skin Atlantic Salmon and Panko Prawns. But it's the specials board that is really exciting... the head chef and his team obviously enjoy experimenting with really tasty and inventive dishes and excel in dishes such as Slow Cooked Pork Belly and Ribs. They have also been extremely patient and helpful with a difficult food allergy that some restaurants find it 'just too hard'. A real find - hope they keep it up as it has become a regular spot for me."
