"We stayed in Jerez for 10 days and walked past Rody twice every day. Because it is not on the Tripadvisor radar, we went everywhere but to Rody until the last night. We were encouraged by tables of Spanish people and the low key atmosphere. The waiter was attentive and had a lovely attitude. We were delighted to see that the menu was traditional and, instead of the usual suspects, had kidneys cooked in red wine....the tapas portion was plenty and cooked competently. We had stuffed squid, tuna and prawn potato salad (actually really tasty) and meatballs all really competently cooked. The square was only 1 street back from the touristic strip but the ambience could not have been more different gentle buzz of conversation, husband and wife with baby sleeping in the pram, couple flirting and conoodling perfectly charming. Only in Spain could you eat well at 10pm! If it hadn't been for the greatest desire for Helado, we would have ordered 3rd round of drinks. Recommend (especially if you enjoy relaxed, unfussy atmosphere and to experience food that is reliable without airs and graces)!! In a nutshell, not glitzy nor glamorous but reassuring and a touch romantic."
