"I ordered ceviche mixto, which wasn 't too bad, but when it came time to pay I found it to be S/.10 more than in the menu. It wasn 't really the money but the principle of the thing. According to the waiter the lower price only applied to 'fish of the day ', which they had run out of 'quite a bit earlier '. It was around 2pm so I was suprised that a fish restaurant had run out of 'fish '. The waiter claimed that he had announced this to the table while we were talking. My point is, why is the customer penalised when the restaurant runs out of an ingredient? I can 't judge the staff too harshly as they were attentive and kindly bought out a little birthday cake after learning it was my birthday but I do question the restaurant if it is policy to charge the customer more as soon as the 'fish of the day ' runs out."

"Before my recent trip to Lima I did some research about restaurants that I never went before and this “El escondite del Gordo” (meaning “The hiding place of the fat man”) was included in my list. From the beginning I had a good impression when the waiter brought to the table the classic free appetizer "Canchita" (fried Peruvian corn). The corn grain was big and fried at the right point and not greasy, this was a good signal that the chef was a good one. (Other restaurants don’t care too much what canchita they serve). I ordered “Choros a la chalaca” (Marinated Mussels) the mussels were really fresh, it made me remember old times when I used to eat this dish it at the beach. My son ordered “Causa de atun” (Mash potatoes with tuna and mayonnaise), my sister ordered “Arroz con Mariscos” (Rice with Seafood), my wife ordered “Milanesa de pescado” (Milanese fish) and I ordered “Rocoto relleno de Mariscos” (Peruvian Rocoto chili filled with seafood). We tried each other dish and all were excellent. To drink we had Lemonade and “Chicha morada” (Refreshment of purple corn). These dishes are classical Peruvian seafood and I recommend this place to anyone. The service was very good and the waiter deserved a good tip.They have several locations, I went to one in the city of San Borja"

"We came here at our first night in Miraflores and it was just fantastic! We have managed to book an outdoor table without booking before, with the waiters being extremely hospitable and welcoming. We ordered a fish cure and keviche to share between me and my husband. The keviche was just delicious! Delicate and melted in the mouth. The curry was fabulous and very tasty. We have this with a few pisco sours and a few glasses of white wine. It was really a magical experience!"

"Qalani is a good seafood restaurant option in Lince District in Lima. The place is small but nice. Do not go by car because there are not enough places to park. I ordered a combo where you could choose dishes. They looked good. Mine...was ceviche and arroz con mariscos and with an extra of Chicharron del Pueblo (that is chicharron de pota, giant squid). Ceviche was pretty good but the arroz con mariscos was anything but arroz con mariscos. I left it all. My friend asked for chaufa crocante or something like that and it was good though."

"This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel owner and we were taken here by his friend who drove us around Lima for the day. This place is worth the trek! It's definitely authentic. We were the only tourists in the restaurant and you should know how to speak some Spanish since nobody speaks English. On Friday there was a line at 2:00 and I see why! That was probably the best cebiche we've ever had. We also got the Picante de mariscos, who was incredible (think paella without rice). The sauce was incredible and the seafood was ineffective. There was a whole crab, 2 huge pawns and much more squid and scallops than we could eat 2. We had Cebiche, Picante de mariscos and 2 beers for $40 (or 120 soles). We were full for the rest of the day, one of the most incredible deals!"
