"If you haven’t had okonomiyaki, then you are missing out. Basically it’s a Japanese savoury pancake filled with veges (mainly cabbage). I got the bbq beef with cheese okonomiyaki. It was very filling. I enjoyed my lunch and for the price it represented good value. Lots of options for your okonomiyaki. Great for the students and workers in Carlton.<br/ <br/"

"WE celebted a special birthday in the restaurant recently and were very happy with the venue, menu and staff for our visit. We had the set menu for lunch which we considered good value with the wide choice of seafood presented."

"Amazing seafood and great atmosphere, will be back! We had the calamari and tentacles, all of the details were right, with the texture and the outside coating, to the sauce. 5 stars"

"After having visited Nirankar we personally feel it's the most underrated restaurant that has not received the kind of attention it deserve. It's way better than many (So Called) well known restaurants What also is quite interesting about this restaurant is they do Nepalese Cuisine as well. Ordered Lamb Cutlet, Squid Masala, Chilly Chicken, lamb Madras, Phelwa (Nepalese Fish Curry), Rice And Roti Basket. Lamb Cutlets were simply Out Of This World. But overall, everything we ordered was amazing. No complains at all. Service was very very very good and the pricing wasn't too bad too. Definitely returning."

"It was a super cold day and we were looking for a place to have pho. We were not here for a while and other Vietnamese restaurants nearby were closed, so we came in. The vegan pho is quite cheap at $16.50 and compares favorably with the amount of tofu and vegetables. There are cheaper pho in the same street, but there are no ingredients. Where the pho falls at Xeom is the broth: it has little to know taste without adding spices, and these are usually non-vegan. If you are happy to put dead squid or bones cha sriracha in your soup, then this place will suit you, but if not prepared for healthy but bland pho."

"Lively casual dining space, we sat by the sushi bar for a variety of small pickings, casual banter and drinks. Not too noisy, efficient and friendly staff. We started with gyutan (ox tongue) two ways with salt and butter. Both delightfully unique tastes of an oft underappreciated dish. The umeshu (Harutsuku from Kobe) with its sweet and mild tartness complemented well. Next up, assorted tempura was tasty but a bit batter heavy. Whole grilled ika (squid) cooked just right with a light soy sauce. Platter of yakiniku (meat skewers) was hit and miss: beef was a bit tough but chicken and pork were outstanding. A huge variety of food available, limited only by your budget and stomach capacity. Will surely visit again to try some more dishes."

"This is the worst tasting meal I have had in a long time. Overpriced and crap all at the same times. Had the pie with truffle my friend had lamb shoulder both meals salty, bland and chewy. No veggie or salad with main meal. Not planning to return to this place. Seriously I ate here about 12 months ago and the food standard had dropped, not with it even for poor students."
