"The best fish and chips in town.We got the chowder, coconut prawns, and halibut fish and chips. The chowder was the best we’ve had on our trip on Vancouver island. Lots of seafood and veggies, perfect consistency and super flavourful. The fry bread paired with the chowder was to die for. The coconut prawns were huge. Fried perfectly and very tasty. Lastly, the halibut and chips was amazing. Super moist fish and the batter was perfect.I’d highly recommend checking out Big Daddy’s Fish Fry while visiting Tofino."

"Took 2 mins to get seated and order drinks. Drinks took 10 mins to get to the table. We ordered appys and meals appys arrived in a timely fashion. We then sat and waited about 15 mins after we finished our apps and no one came to check on how the food was or could any drinks be topped up. Finally all of our food order arrived at the same time and the three servers all once attempted to put our meals on the table alongside the empty appy plates. I had asked for my fries to be extra crispy and had to return them as they were barely cooked. At no time did anyone come to check on how we or the food was. We finished eating and had to wait again at least 10 min for someone to come and clear table. They were about to walk away and we had to stop them to ask for a desert menu and to top up coffees. High note. Desert was excellent (although slow to get to the table). Come time for the bill they arbitrarily added “15% service charge” to the bill. With the exception that the fish was overdone and fries underdone the rest of the food was ok. Service wasn’t worth 5% gratuity. There must be better choices in Tofino. We’ll fine out tomorrow."
