"Very limited menu. Advertised items were not available. I saw a waiter spill a tray full of water glasses with ice on a lady by mistake"

"My boyfriend and I went to Roberto's with another couple because we try to participate in Seattle Restaurant Week each fall together. The SRW menu looked appealing- chicken pesto, spaghetti carbonara and pizza. The brought out a small basket of bread and an odd mixture that was orange, it was mild and I couldn't quite put my finger on the flavor profile. Our friends arrived and he pointed out the sauce tasted exactly like stove top stuffing! We got Caesar salads to start, at first it seemed very dry but then we saw the dressing was clumped to the lettuce and once we figured that out and mixed everything up better, it had good flavor. The chicken and veggies didn't look too exciting and was basic in flavor. The pasta was decent. The beer list wasn't impressive but that's understandable, that should not be the focus at a trattoria. We sat in the atrium which gave us a pretty view outside. The chairs were all plastic- it felt like fancy IKEA furniture. The family besides us had their credit card slip out from the bill folder and fall into a crack in the tile flooring- it took about 20 minutes for staff to retrieve the card and while I understand this is an extremely rare situation, I was disappointed to see that the family's bill wasn't taken care of by the restaurant. It was quite a show, watching the attempts to save the credit card. While my boyfriend and I had some exciting news to share with our friends, we decided to save it for later since the credit card retrieval was distracting. Our experience wasn't bad; it just wasn't great- nothing exciting about it that would make me want to go back again. Other SRW places we have dined at are Aqua (best bread pudding ever! and Icon Grill (the décor was funky and the food was delicious ; and I would much rather go back to one of them than waste our money at Roberto's again."
