"I think the ambience is my favorite thing about Claws... It has this local hunting type of taste where the staff would probably know you with name and expect what you order. The walls, covered w/ raw wood, are “graffitied” w/ the exultations and outcry of many enthusiastic diners, as well as w/signed polaroids by giddy gourmands. The pirate theme was completely embraced to create an atmosphere that is casual and festive. If Cajun Foods is what you want, this place is perfect for casual dates, b Day parties, game watching (flat screen TV is everywhere and for Chillin’ out w/ friends for absolutely no reason whatsoever. All waitresses were friendly, efficient and lovable. My glass of refreshing strawberry tea (w/ REAL strawberries inside, thin cut; perfect sweetness was always full. I don't like it when the servers are TOO eager as you may have previously experienced at Cheesecake Factory or a similar place where they are too often looking for you to check at times, w/ that veneer of enthusiasm... I don't know about you, but it pulls me out. You will not experience that at Claws... You are kind but covered so you can relax and enjoy your meal and your company. FOOD I tried: STRAWBERRY ICED TEA (you tried that!! The peach iced tea was great, also GUMBO (balanced, mild flavors; hearty, but not heavy... how healthy comfort food... ate every last drop! SHIPWRECK (sortment of baked and deep fried shells, Calamari, shrimps and shells... generously dimensioned seafood, but wished the dough was seasoned and lighter in the texture CRAWFISH (commen cooked in a bag w/ corn, potatoes, cancer, w/ Old Bay seasonings(? The table is fed w/paper to absorb the liquid from the inside of the bag, and as soon as the waitress bibs you, you can attack that cancer. These cute crustaceans look like mini lobster, and like w/ similar types of shellfish, it takes some work to get to the meat, so if you are a rotten eater as I am, go with a friend who does the work for you, or simply order something that is easier to eat CAJUN FRIES (usually spicy... can not only find a STRAWBERRY ICE creamy If you come from Brookhurst, look for El Pollo Loco and Jumpa Thai at the entrance."
