"My co-driver just said, There are plenty of stupid people out there. He 's right. The Subway staff members here need to either be replaced OR retrained in common sense and customer service. When it comes to customer experience, the Subway in this Pilot fell far short. I 'm a trucker, hauling necessities like toilet paper, dog food, and hand sanitizer across America. I 'm a nice guy who follows the rules, drives the speed limit, treats people with goodness and respect, and foes all that with a measure of common sense. I suffer through the abominable food served up for truckers across America. Plus, I can 't ingest gluten. I eat at Subway a lot. Salads only (because of the bread gluten thing). I commonly ask for a large cup, instead of a salad bowl. My kitchen table is the front seat of an 18 wheeler. There is no place to set down a takeout salad bowl from Subway. I ALWAYS ask for and receive my tuna salad order at Subway in a large plastic cup. Works well for me in the truck. I can place it in the drink holder when I need to set down the best meal I ever get on the road. I 'm away from home 4-6 weeks at a time. Work 7 days a week. One of the very bright spots in my week is the 3 or 4 times weekly I get to enjoy a Subway salad. It 's been a few days. I just pulled into this Pilot in Walton, Kentucky on Richmond Road 278 (Subway location 15079) and, with a watering mouth, I ordered a salad. The young girl there said she couldn 't make a salad because they were out of takeout salad bowls. I told her not to worry because I always get my tuna salads in the plastic cup. I explained why and told her that everywhere I go I get it in a plastic cup. All across America. She said to me she can 't do that. I said but they take care of me everywhere else like that and she responded with a question... Have you gotten it in a cup at this location before? I told her no and she said, well I don 't think we could do that. Then she looked at her fellow staff member who was working at the register. He gave her a deer in the headlights look and said nothing. I politely said, Well, I guess I 'm not going to eat lunch today. and walked away. Another customer couldn 't believe how I was treated. I went to the cooler and bought a protein drink. It tasted nasty, and probably isn 't very good for me. I am very disappointed in the reception and the response I received at that Subways location. Before my Trucking days I spent many years in customer service in retail locations. I know, if there 's a way to treat customers and accommodate their needs (is reasonable and possible), while meeting the needs of the company, i it should be done. I might 've even paid more for a plastic cup, but was never given the option. I suggest the franchisee or corporate owners either decide to hire smarter people that are willing to accommodate customer needs, especially during these trying times. Truck drivers are hauling necessities in horrible conditions most of the time, but especially now during the pandemic. Food is hard to get, rest stops are closed, and we 're often hauling loads containing things everyone needs, including us, but we can 't park and run into stores to get them. Meals are a good example. There are a whole lot of appreciative kind people out there who show us kindness. The snippy girl in this Subway isn 't one of them. I find Subways in Love 's far more friendly and accommodating."
